Biggest problem with the second period was that UND got outshot while on the powerplay. Total BS. Denver is simply outworkng UND in those situations.

Well, I totally called this one a tie before the game! Wish I was wrong, because now the best UND can do vs MT is 1-1-1 this year. And that is IF they can win tomorrow. This against a team that has won only 5 games. UND continues to struggle against teams they should beat.

The funny thing about Tech's lousy webcast is that I was able to see the Finley goal replayed 4 times while trying to get the feed back. That's the only replay they "offer".

I think Genoway has shown much improvement, even from the beginning of this season. I will be hard pressed to forget the giveaways at last year's Frozen Four, but then again, I don't believe he was at 100%. In hindsight, perhaps he shouldn't have played. Loved seeing what Jones did, after seeing one of our smallest players lying on the ice from a cheapo. I was very disappointed that the ref's didn't let Jones tear Lucia's head off, frankly. I've been watching that kid for years, and have developed a distinct distaste for the guy.

I have to say, except for a brief period in the 3rd, UND absolutely dominated this game. They were sharp on passes, defense, and played extremely agressive hockey with no fear. If UND plays this way, nobody can beat them. Plain and simple.

No way Kangaroo gives up more than SIX tomorrow night. That's the way he rolls.

I have to say, my optimism was peaked at the beginning of this game, because I haven't seen Hak this jazzed for a series since the Western Regionals a few years back. Granted, I haven't seen all of his interviews since then by far, but the point is that I knew he would have the team equally jacked for tonight. Like it or not, Hak is a "second half is what really matters" kind of coach. I fault it for him often, but at least he brings a lot of enthusiasm into the second half of each season. I say no let down happens in the 3rd and this goes down as one of the goofs' worst losses of the season.

If UND can kill the penalty to start P2, then they should be able to sustain some momentum. We'll see. This series is more important for UND than for minny, so lets hope the boys can keep up the pressure.

Well, the scoop on Kangaroo is that he has hops this season. But, this much pressure for 3 periods? Nobody is a rock that tough!

I'm just guessing, but I doubt that any other team has held UM to 2 shots in a period until now.

Hakstol's Booster meeting comments: ~Duncan is getting more comfortable at center. We put Hextal up there, and we think some chemistry is developing. ~The Zajac line lost their flow in Detroit, but we are starting to see it come back. ~We need some offense out of Vande. Glad to see that he is re-emerging. ~Ben Blood is playing well, but Miller is a more comfortable choice with Jones for tonight. Could be inserted tomorrow. ~16 game stretch starts tonight. This team will go as far as its senior class takes it. Hak looked pretty fired up for this series in his speech. I'm excited to see what the boys can do tonight.

With Finley back on D, and Trupp back in the lineup, this exhibition game takes on a lot more meaning. Some forwards are going to have a battle on their hands to stay in the lineup. My guess is that Malone, Davidson, Trupp, Toews & Lamoureaux will all be under close scrutiny by the coaches in this game. We'll probably see some spirited play out there.

Hopefully, it means we impress some of the U-18 players with our arena and program. Also, we hope it means a bigger check from the Ralph to UND at the end of the season.

You mean a speed team like BC? What have they done lately, besides whoop UND's ass and win an NC?

I hate to be in this position (ranting against my life long favorite team). But, 3-6 is a piss-poor start to the season. And, I want answers about why this team can't get up to win in the Ralph. The "mystery" has gone on too long. No more excuses. Get your )@#$(R%* together!

Watkins: We are 3-6. We're in a bad position. We need to come back to work every day. Why the heck can't this team come to play at home?

Hak on the last 2 min's: "That's what you need every night in this league!" And, "You have to come out with a hatred for losing". At least Hak is not running from the truth - his team stunk it up tonight.

I wish that prognostication about Hak were true, but after 4 years of watching his teams play lackluster hockey in the first half, Im just plain sick of it!

Exactly. That game was total BS! They looked like crap for 58 min's , then played like they cared for 2 min's . NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Yes - Hakstol needs to shake up his 3rd line. They are just not playing well. Put in Davidson at least. Well, at least this game wasn't on national TV or anything - DOOH!

If anybody says "hot goaltender" tonight, I'm going to have to slay them.
