  1. This discussion has really veered out of the realm of general interest to Sioux fans. Frankly, the incident was off-topic when raised as an attack on Dave. Once the subject was on the table, I'm sympathetic to everyone's desire to tell their side of the story, but at this point I don't see any benefit to it going any further in this venue. I'd appreciate everyone dropping it.
  2. This thread really has just become people attacking each other instead of talking about Hakstol's contract, hockey, or even Buning's leave of absence. Discussion on Buning's leave of absence remains very welcome -- let's consolidate it over here.
  3. Everyone, please stop with the personal attacks that seem to be taking over this thread.
  4. Since you chose to drag it into public and chose to misrepresent the contents of the warning, let me make the correction in public- The warning asked you to stop two behaviors: 1) Stop the generic attacks on the membership of the board (many times in the last few days you've hurled general insults at the entire membership of the board) 2) Stop trying to drag NDSU into every discussion (you frequently take topics that are about UND and attempt to make them NDSU vs. UND debates) As to our moderation standards -- my understanding is that we've tolerated you longer than the Bison board did; I think that confirms that you may engage in some undesirable behaviors beyond "not praising the Sioux enough". That said, this is just a clarification of the warning, you're still welcome to post about everything you think the Sioux do wrong, as long as you immediately begin following the two rules above.
  5. Everyone - stop dragging discussions you don't like or fights from other message boards to this one. If you have something to say about a post on umdpenaltybox or gopherpucklive or wherever, say it there. Trying to drag "what those Gopher fans are saying" over here to stir things up has become epidemic in the last week and is not appreciated. Anyone who wants to know what Gopher fans are saying can go find out on their own, we even provide a link.
  6. A few more things to note: The personal profiles are changed dramatically. It's a much more social thing, you can invite other members as friends, leave comments, etc... Of course, you can also modify your own profile so other people's comments/friend requests AREN'T visible unless you approve them. I wouldn't have necessarily gone out of my way to enable such a thing, but will take feedback. The "quick edit" isn't working quite right for me. I'll continue to investigate. I'll replace a bit more of this blue in the default controls with green, eventually.
  7. To everyone -- as requested above, please refocus the discussion in this thread on its topic ("Dartmouth joins the anti-Sioux crusade") rather than personal attacks on other current and former members.
  8. Keep the discussion about the topic at hand ("Dartmouth joins the anti-Sioux crusade"). Just attacking other posters with whom you disagree is why your posts are getting called out as "trolls" and ignored. Engage in a civil discussion without personal attacks, and people will be glad to engage you in such; otherwise kindly leave.
  9. Alright, warrior_08 is getting some time out to remember how to play nice. Back to the football game please...
  10. This has nothing to do with "2006 Men's BB" or the Sioux, so is totally out of place in this thread. Please stop trolling; and others, please don't feed the trolls.
  11. Some pregame smack is welcome, but calling all UND students drunks and racists is a bit much. If you want to continue to post here, focus on the game and what's going to happen on the field.
  12. Try, try again. We're back up on a different new server. I'd still like to find a better home since the ugly crash, so hopefully this one can handle the load. We'll see how the next couple days go. Update -- I see that some of the security settings I increased in the transition are causing problems on some pages. I'll be cleaning them up one by one, but feel free to point out any that you notice.
  13. Ok, your attacks on other posters aren't wanted on this forum. The thread is correctly labeled, if you don't want to read it, don't. There's nothing wrong with a Gopher fan starting a thread to let us know what's happening on their team.
  14. Despite being hypothetical, this sort of accusation is dangerous to make and should be avoided. This sort of personal attack is unacceptable, and please keep the language PG.
  15. You feel this thread has run its course, do you? I suppose you're right...
  16. No one had done anything because it had only been an hour since the offending post. Calling your opponents nazis is indeed obvious personal smack and not allowed. We try to keep an eye on things, but the high traffic of the site guarantess that quite a few users will see any unacceptable posts before we do. The best thing to do is report them and then ignore them.
  17. Yep, calling your opponents nazis is a pure personal attack and is generally the last desperate grasp of someone who has completely run out of topical, factual arguments. It certainly makes my job easier. Though Godwin's Law suggests the thread should close, let's see if a not-so-subtle warning shot can get everyone still permitted to post here to play nice.
  18. It's nice when people so helpfully sort themselves into those who ignore this demand and those who respect it -- it helps me sort those who can participate in a friendly topical discussion from those who just want to talk smack (and helps me put together the suspension list). Anyone who wants to still be allowed to post here tomorrow would do well to reread it:
  19. We seem to have gotten a bit afield from discussing Big Sky Presidents Meeting or UND's Division Classification. Please stop with the UND-NDSU athletes' academic performance smack (except where relevant to the discussion of division classification).
  20. Keep your fingers crossed, we're on an entirely new server. I've been working on it since January after the ugly crash and have had it ready to go for almost 2 months, but have been afraid to pull the trigger until a relatively "quiet" time because I didn't know how long it would take. 1 hour was a pleasant surprise. I undoubtedly missed something, so if you notice anything out of whack, let me know.
  21. This is getting over the top. Please keep your comments confined to UND athletics, pro or con, but stop the innuendo and smearing of UND staff and other posters. This is not the appropriate place to air personal grudges.
  22. 90% of a message board is opinion and non-official news. Stop attacking people for posting something without a link, if you just want official news, stick to the news page, don't attack other posters. "Here we go again" seems to imply that it has been a bad thing when this has happend in the past, whereas instead frequent message board readers have heard every piece of interesting news (signings / departures) days or even weeks before there's an "official" link. Your fellow posters have different connections than you and bring interesting rumors to the table, that's the point of the message board. Yes, a troll will sometimes sneak in and post something false. Astute readers can discuss the topic, assess the credibility of the poster, and vet the rumor without attacking the person.
  23. What she said. We love to see the enthusiasm, but posting pics inline in every thread makes the threads hard to read and forces everyone to download high bandwidth photos. You can upload pics to a service like photobucket for free and then just provide a link to the photo album (e.g. this is a good way to post photos). Thanks!
  24. Be nice to each other and go here -> Sioux nickname discussions
