  1. Stop trolling, post on topic, discontinue the personal attacks against other posters.
  2. It should have been closed, not deleted, my mistake. Fortunately, it's no great loss to the world as it was just a 1am troll of the "haha Sioux suck" variety and a few Sioux fans taunting back.
  3. Agreed with the previous poster, stop the smack. This random tirade has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the thread.
  4. Recent discussions have brought around quite a few new posters and riled up some old ones, so let me remind EVERYONE: Do not personally attack other posters. You can disagree with their opinions and hold a legitimate discussion on them without attacking the person.
  5. Sorry to hijack the thread, but can people really not edit their posts? There were a couple such complaints in this thread. I just tested it with a standard "member" account and it works for me. Our intent is for you to be able to edit your own posts for 24 hours so you can fix typos, change your mind, etc... When you're viewing a thread like this, there should be a green edit button in the lower right corner (just left of "quote") of any individual post that you made within the last day.
  6. Yeah, it seems like this isn't a legitimate attempt to discuss famous North Dakotans, rather just an attempt to bash Fargo/NDSU. I continue to urge those who also have a strong interest in NDSU to participate in the NDSU message boards; at least one of them actively welcomes UND v. NDSU smack.
  7. Trolling from Sioux fans is not any more welcome than it is from Gopher fans. Duey commented on Kessel (the topic of the thread) and Sioux fans quit debating Kessel and started ripping on him for being a Gopher fan. That is trolling, pure and simple, and is not welcome. Seriously, those of you (both Gopher and Sioux fans) who just want to endlessly bounce the same old smack back and forth with rival fans, go to USCHO or somewhere else where it's welcome; please keep the discussions here topical.
  8. redwing77 is right, this is over the top. Keep the argument about hockey, don't attack the person.
  9. Sigh. Spoke too soon. The crash corrupted the forum members database, which brought down the database server when it hit the corrupt part. I ran a repair and restarted the database server and I'll try to keep a close eye on things. Let's call that 2.5 hours downtime yesterday and today
  10. There have been about 1.5 hours (cumulative) of site down time yesterday and today. The tech guys assure me that it was the result of a configuration error (mistyped IP address causing intermittent crashes) that has been fixed, as opposed to a portend of hardware failure. Hopefully that's true and that's the end of it.
  11. Sorry to those affected -- we're cracking down a little on provocative avatars. While people have done a good job of following our request to keep it in line with something you might see on the street, the very real concern has been raised about the site being "safe for work". The new standard is going to be whether I'd be embarassed to have my boss standing behind me while reading one of your posts. A little arbitrary, but directly meets the site's "safe for work" goal.
  12. I will clarify once more, your views are welcome; your calling other posters cowards and racists and threatening the administrators of this site are not. The warning applies to everyone, and it's the same standard everyone will be held to (feel free to report any missed violations via email or PM). Further discussion of board policy is welcome in the "SiouxSports.com" forum. Edit -- add this to the list of quick ways to become unwelcome: Comparing those with whom you disagree to Hitler/Nazis is poor form and not allowed.
  13. Your viewpoints on the topics of discussion are welcome, your personal attacks against other posters are not. Again with the personal attacks, and now threats. Avoid both in future posts or your privileges to post here will be suspended.
  14. It's an interesting question -- I agree there are a few new Gopher fans showing up, but I don't find most of them to be trolls to the point of being unwelcome (whereas I suspect you're holding them to a different standard). Duey may be the one exception, and he's suspended now, but it took a few posts from him to decide he's not contributing anything. You can always drop me an email/PM if there's something you think we're missing and we'll take another look at it and reconsider.
  15. No prob... I just wanted to explain to people why we aggressively police it. It's not just us being big meanies, it's me trying to avoid having to pay a giant settlement to Knight Ridder (and perhaps even jail, since excessive violations is now a felony!)
  16. For the record, it's not our rule, it's U.S. copyright law. Yes, I'm going to police it because I'm the one would otherwise be named in the lawsuit.
  17. It's now been over 24 hours since any post in this thread was about the Sioux or Gophers -- I think this one is officially dead.
  18. Because there seems to be so much oversupply this year and UND is in the FF, I think we're seeing a few more ticket selling threads than usual. Let's consolidate them here.
  19. Comments on discussions on other message boards should be made there, don't carry arguments from other message boards over here.
  20. Stop the personal attacks. If you disagree with someone, argue the point with which you disagree, don't attack the person.
  21. Would everyone (regardless of who you cheer for) please quit attacking other people personally and instead stick to discussing the thread topics. Fans of other teams are quite welcome here to discuss UND athletics (even negatively); however, feeding the genuine trolls plays right into their hands by making the board about them and their topic instead of about UND hockey.
  22. True. This forum was just around because there was actually quite a bit of news regarding UND studying its divisional classification recently. Lately, that seems to have subsided and it's just devolved into Bison v. Sioux smack, which is still definitely not welcome here. This forum is closing again; don't worry, it will return when UND's division classification generates news in the future that warrants dedicated discussion. Those who wish to regularly discuss NDSU athletics should find an NDSU message board, some of which I believe even still encourage intra-fan smack.
  23. Fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  24. It's been a long time since this thread had anything to do with the topic of the allegations against Greene. Feel free to continue the discussion of that topic here. Please do not carry any of the ancillary bickering between/about other fans there.
