  1. Part of the Paul Bunyan cable "sports package" here in Berrrrmidji.
  2. Just moved from the heart of Gopher land (Mpls) to the heart of Beaver Land Berrmidji . . .
  3. It flashes images of various Sioux sports on Paul Bunyan cable in Berrrrmidji.
  4. I agree with all of you's. The first half of the season will be "interesting" with the young D meshing. I think a 4th or 5th WCHA finish is pretty realistic with some fun shootouts. Hopefully they'll make a final run like last year - and then some!
  5. I swear I can hear John from the Extra End all the way to Mpls if the wind is right. When was Tallackson in Grafton - I don't remember him (I graduated in '89).
  6. Are there any Sioux hockey screen savers/wallpaper links on this web site?
  7. Wrigley and possibly Soldier's Field are the two redeeming Chi Town qualities. Went to Wrigley a few years ago vs the Twins and Denny Hocking hit a lead off HR. My buddy out reached me for it in the bleachers . . . and threw it back. We made Sportscenter that night. Parshall (SW of Minot) for pheasants for our family. My grandparents are in Mesa. Went to a great steakhouse in Gilbert a couple of years ago . . . but that's another story
  8. My condolences, ESPN for living in Chicago. Pheasant-tober, October 8 for ND and MN residents . . .
  9. Ya huh. Marsha (more so in the later/Mike & Greg permed hair episodes) was the predesessor to my second love, Kelly Kopowski
  10. Yee hah! Gopher bashing! Being a Sioux fan stuck in Mpls, there are four things I dislike about the local college hockey program: 1) Dubay (although he does bring college hockey to light) 2) Wooger and Mozzsucko 3) Final 5 always in St. Paul with "no home ice advantage" and the 2pm screw over the play-in winner 4) Arrogance to the other small WCHA schools Yada yada yada I think Denver and CC should be considered "elite" schools. I think UND is still somewhat of an underdog, fighting location, smaller community and the lack of major TV braodcasts such as FSN. Things in ND - pheasants, ducks, walleyes, Badlands/Medora, richest farming land in the world, minimal traffic jams (except Fargo . . .), great & true people and that girl (I think her name was Melissa) I met at the Rock in GF back in '94 . . . ahhh yes.
  11. Matter of fact, the 1980 NBA Finals (Lakers vs 76ers) were on tape delay, airing after the 10pm news - in the U. S. of A.
  12. By failure I meant the stories you routinely hear about the 17 yr old kid passing up a scholarship to be Kobe II, not getting drafted in the first round, not making a team and so on. Yes the NBA is failry healthy, but they need to implement an age rule like the NFL. And yes, of course the NHL is on a severe downturn and obviously much needs to be fixed there as well. I remember when NBA games were on tape delay and the NHL was far superior . . .
  13. Besides those two, MN doesn't have the talent for any early departures . . .
  14. I enjoyed watching most of these guys "Tony Hrkac, Bob Joyce, Doug Smail, Russ Romaniuk, Ed Belfour, Travis Roche, Mike Commodore, Zach Parise, Brandon Bochenski, Troy Murray, Dave Tippett, James Patrick, Howard Walker, Garry Valk, Landon Wilson, etc" play, but it's not to say that I wouldn't have enjoyed watching them a year or two more in a Sioux sweater. I just think it's a sad sign of the times when you expect great players to play a college sport a year or two at best. Granted, hockey players are older when they are freshman, but I'd think they'd still benefit by staying three or four years and fulfilling their commitment. That's not reality though, and I wish 'em well.
  15. I agree DAR. It's very disapointing to see him go, but, as we all know, money talks. Hopefully, our favorite sport doesn't go the way of the high school-college basektball-NBA food chain has by disinegrating three or four years in college. I hope the NHL (or whatever it ends up being) sees the light and doesn't let it become another NBA-like failure. I wish him well in his quest, but it would have been nice to see in green and white. Lets pass the hat to keep Greene . . .
  16. Wow, I suddenly feel so young I remember watching Brouder at the old arena (wearing Cooper-All's I believe). I used to pretend to be him shooting tennis balls at our garage door . . .
  17. What year did you guys graduate? I'm from '89 (ol timer, I know). Troy Mears was our class' star player. He played Goalie in Gretna for a while.
  18. Supertrex, are you/were you a Spoiler?
  19. Wow, I feel so out of touch. A box it is. There is a wealth of information on this board . . . I will inform the Rainy Riverans in a few weeks about the "box" so they can catch up with the rest of their country's verbage.
  20. As of September 2004, a 2-4 = case in Rainy River, ON. The last time I was in Winnepeg was about 10 years ago, so the verbage may have changed in that region but has not yet transended into the Rainy River Region. I haven't heard "box" before, but I may be out of touch, eh?
  21. OK, how about "Larry King and thong"?
  22. "NDSU and hockey" is kinda like "milk and wiskey" . . . they just don't go together.
  23. Ok, $500 is a little off A 2-4 of Canadian beer is only a few bucks more than a case of Bud bottles.
  24. I think a "2-4" (a case) is about $500 Canadian, but with the exchange rate, it's not much more than a 2-4 of US brewskis. There is a definite taste difference between the stuff shipped to the states and the domestic, eh, with my preference for the Canadian version.
