YES it's on FSN (along with tonite's CC/Goph, tomorrow afternoon's 3rd place and tomorrow night's championship) and on 660 am if the Sioux web cast crashes.

ST and the Goon are right on. The Sioux need to set the tone on the first few shifts. Off to McGovern's, I take take it anymore . . . Let's Go Sioux!

You gotta give the future net minder some solid expierience and a game in the F5 would do just that.

How about a Rolling Rock or a Hieny . . . green bottle and all. The metro roads will suck, even with just a flake of snow, so I'd leave plenty early for the X.

I believe the only two teams that have something to play for are the Sioux/BADger winner and the Gophs. The Sioux can get a 2 seed with a couple wins and the Gophs are playing for a #1 seed. While I don't see CC playing dead, they don't have too much of an incentive to play for (besides beating a rival, of course). My 2 cents . . . Thurs - Sioux win 4-2 Fri - Sioux lose 4-2 to DU Fri - Gophs win 5-3 over CC Sat afternoon - CC beats Sioux 2-1 Sat night - Gophs beat DU 4 - 2 I hope I'm wrong and the Sioux win three and the Gophs win one.

The only blue ice I like is Labatt's . . .

Hockey is hands-down the best live spectator sport there is and it's mediocore at best watching on TV (unless you were st Sensors last weekend with the Bulldog fans). However, I saw the AHL All Star game on ESPN in HD and that made a signifigant improvement. PS, the blue tinge on the ice from old hockey games on TV is from the cameras getting warm (I believe).

Bloomington it is. We'll be starting "pregame" about 5:30 Saturday night. Any odds on the internet broadcast working for tonight's game?
-
Oh come one Yzerman, that makes a little to much sense . . . All-in-all there will always be an advantage for the gopher hockey program and that is the size/draw of their market. The WCHA is out to make money and that means putting the Gophs in the prime time game regardless of other teams' fate or fairness.

Would anyone pay to see the "Ultimate Homer-thon Bout" - Sid and Virg in a boxing match? Or maybe have the Ultimate Homer deadpool?
-
You have to admit that nealry every year the stars align for the Gophs - look at your recent titles. Whether it's hosting the Final 5 and/or the NCAA's, your team gets the late game and has home ice. The disadvantage for the play in teams should only be the extra game and they shouln't be penalized with a second game 14 hours later.

Mazsucko does the play-by and Woog is color. I don't mind Woog as I couldn't stand Tom Reid. Now there was a "dynamic duo" . . . I wish the Wooger was still coaching the Gophs . . .

ABTG, do you remember the way Casey would come out? I swear he thought the blue line was the start of his crease . . . I saw him get burned a few times. What a goalie though.

I've been a Sioux/college hockey fan for quite a few years. I haven't followed recruiting much except for the last few years, starting with the ZP saga. Does anyone have any insight on what attracts mid-to-top level players to their chosen program? Is it the market - which give UM and UW an edge? Is it the facilities - which gives UND, UM and UW an edge? TV contracts? Does it differ between a high school and a USHL player? Thanks.

Hopefully, the Sioux climb out of the spot they're in with the INCH 4X4 NCAA projections. Yikes. WORCESTER East Regional 1.Boston College 2.Ohio State 3.Boston University 4.Quinnipiac AMHERST Northeast Regional 1.Denver 2.Harvard 3.New Hampshire 4.Dartmouth GRAND RAPIDS Midwest Regional 1.Michigan 2.Cornell 3.Wisconsin 4.North Dakota MINNEAPOLIS West Regional 1.Colorado College 2.Minnesota 3.Maine 4.Bemidji State

Isn't that all of their fans? I didn't know that guy was imfamous, but he was/is always drunk and he is a hockey guy. Must be him.

Have you ever been to a UMD game where that Bluto-looking guy is there with the hard hat and the siren? I've seen him at the DECC and the Final 5 a few times. I imagine he's 1) still at UMD going on his 6th (undergraduate) year, 2) still in Duluth asking if you'd like fries with that, 3) is still in St Paul after last year's Final 5 and plans on wearing his siren hat this weekend at Sensors (if he can get a ride there).

I sent Mike Rudolph an email asking about the broadcast problem. He promptly replied saying they know of the problem (on their end) and they're trying to fix it. Anyone want to pass the hat for them to upgrade from the Commodore 64 and add a new work study rube?
-
I agree. However, it's all about the $. The Gophs, by far, have the largest market, the home venue and FSN all on their side. Heck, if the Gophs didn't make the Final Five :-) FSN would probably air a "Gopher Classic" Friday night instead of showing another team play.

Too funny. I'll be at Sensors Bloomington on Saturday. Looking forward to finally seeing some green & black instead of that !#%$ maroon and gold. So I take that it's a 50/50 shot to listen to the broadcasts over the internet? I should consider myself lucky in listening to last year's Friday Final 5 game (on a Mac even) . . .

"I go to Senser's occasionally. From what I've seen it can be spotty to packed with Sioux fans depending on the game. I expect a pretty good crowd for the playoffs with Duluth. And a deciding game will be pretty full, especially if it's a 3rd game on Sunday. I went to the 3rd game against Denver a couple years ago and it was PACKED and LOUD. Really fun atmosphere." COOL. Besides an annual trip to the Ralph, I haven't seen a Sioux game all year (thanks FSN). I'll have to try at get to Sensors this weekend. Any location better than the other (nearest to Bloomington)?

I'm a recent Sioux transplant in Mpls. I tried to get the braodcast from 96.1 - it started the Windows Media Player but all it did was "buffering" - and I didn't get the broadcast. I use Mozilla Firefox as a browser. Am I missing something? Also, do many Sioux fans show up for the games at Sensors?
