  1. Thanks MafiaMan...I blame the daylight savings thing on my brain fart.
  2. As dissappointing as that is, we have got to be happy with with all the games the Sioux have won the past 3 months. We also won the MacNaughton Cup, which means another beautiful banner in the Ralph.
  3. I could never quite figure DaveK out...now everthing seems a little more clear.
  4. Congrats to the Bison on winning the Summit League. I am a big supporter of Sioux Sports, but will be rooting for the Bison to make the big dance. Ben Woodside is one of the best basketball players we have ever seen around this area, he seemed to will NDSU to the win the other night against Oral Roberts. I've listened to BW with Dan Hammer on his sports program, he seems like a class act. Now our Sioux hockey team needs to wrap up our WCHA League next weekend in Madison.
  5. I agree with you on the Title 9 situation, it makes for a lot harder decision. NDSU should have went with hockey years ago, UND should have went with the Bison when they went D1. I have personally met Gene Taylor a couple times, seems like a a very good guy and has done a great job as AD. We obviously don't see eye to eye on the Sioux-Bison thing, but there's a lot of people who could say that.
  6. The Force had a great weekend, winning all 3 games against 2 of the best teams(Green Bay & Lincoln) in the USHL. I think Fargo will be just fine with the Force team. The NDSU brass(Team Makers) has never wanted hockey in Fargo, as long as Chapman & Taylor are here it won't happen...I hope they stay a long time. Fargo will never be a hockey town like Grand Forks, but has made great strides with the Force coming to town.
  7. Osh was also named 1st Star of the Game...they interviewed him after the game, he was obviously all smiles.
  8. Thanks FIRE HELMET GUY #26...I thought he was a senior. I still hope the Sioux-Gophers meet up this year, either at the WCHA Final Five or somewhere in the NCAA's.
  9. At the Sioux Boosters in Fargo yesterday, Dane Jackson mentioned that the Sioux coaches took exception to John Hill questioning Evan Trupp's toughness. I know we need to move on to Tech, but it pisses me off that Tony Lucia cheapshots Trupp and skates away from what he deserved...an ass kicking. Hopefully the Sioux will play the Gophers again before Lucia graduates.
  10. This Sioux-Gopher thing may turn into a good rivalry.
  11. I think a lot of hockey people know what the code is. Is it right or wrong? Personally, I think it is what it is. If you're good enough to play college hockey, you know what the code is. Tony Lucia knows the code, he choose to back down.
  12. I thought losing the Sioux name was a joke at first, we know where that's at.
  13. I have some friends going up to the game tonight that could bring the tickets to Grand Forks.
  14. I have 6 Suite tickets available for Saturday Night. After hearing the weather for tomorrow night we decided not to go up to GF with 4 kids. I have the tickets here in Fargo.
  15. In last nights Devils 4-1 win over Pittsburg, Zach Parise was the 3rd star and Travis Zajac was 2nd star of the game. Zach's tip in goal was awesome.
  16. AZSIOUX...what are you doing putting former Sioux players on this thread? I have the NHL Package, thanks for the daily updates on what former Sioux players are playing that night, it's a great reminder. Has anyone heard anything on Oshie's injury?
  17. [quote name='mikejm' date='Dec 10 2008, 01:24 PM' post='362289 The citizens of Fargo were asked twice if they "wanted" to spend $x million to build new ice. Twice they said "no". Emphatically.
  18. mikejm...I respectfully disagree with you on this. The Force game on Saturday night had 4300 at their game, the Bison basketball game had 3200 and there was also a high school hockey game in Moorhead that night. The Saturday before that the Force had 4500 fans with a Sioux hockey game in Grand Forks that night. I don't think the "newness" of the UP Center will wear off, next summer they'll get the parking lot(paved) issues taken care of, the community around the UP Center will grow, the 4 Youth rinks will be underway and the Force will be a year older. The Force have a very young team this year that will only get better with Blaiser at the helm.
  19. ESPN missed this one...it's good to see JT putting some pucks in the net.
  20. Oshie was back on the ice Thursday, sounds like he won't be playing in a game for at least a week though. I've got the NHL Package, Oshie is still my favorite hockey player to watch.
  21. I thought the whole deal was a hit. The UP Center is a great place to watch a game, they obviously have some kinks to work out, but considering the pressure everyone was under to be ready for opening night, it went very well. The game itself was a bonus, the Force won 2-1 and they had one of the best hockey fights I've seen live. We all know they aren't going to have 5000 people all season long, but hockey interest in Fargo is definetly on the rise. All the youth programs are increasing and with the Force now in town that should only get better. Kudos to Dean Blais on taking on a very tough project, without his name and obviously the work of many great people this would not be happening.
  22. This country is headed right towards socialism, expect big changes after November 4th. Here's a top 10 list to chew on: 1) Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court. 2) Very strick gun laws will come into effect. 3) Obama will renege on his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam. 4) TAX RATES will surge to the highest levels in 30 years. 5) Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense. 6) "In God We Trust" will be removed from all currency. 7) Our borders will be open to all comers, especially from the Middle East & South America. 8) CAPITAL GAINS TAX will be at least double current levels. 9) Amnesty will be granted to all illegals in the U.S., regardless of status or even gang membership. 10) Our presence in Iraq will come to an abrupt end-with tragic results to their citizens and devastating consequences to our military. I know only 2 of these pertain to the subject being discussed...just needed to let everyone know what other wonderful things we have to look forward to.
  23. I agree...the University of North Dakota PERIOD.
