  1. Since you've been throwing the "cult" word out I had to look up the definition. Cult refers to a group whose beliefs or practices could be considered stange or sinister. I just thought I was following a college hockey team the past 40 years for fun.
  2. I just realized I'm part of a cult and I live in the northern US and that I LOVE IT. Sioux hockey is more recognizable on a National Level than any other sport in North Dakota. I thought what Ben Woodside & the Bison basketball team was outstanding last year, but Fighting Sioux hockey has been the most consistant high level team that North Dakota has produced.
  3. You are a funny guy, how do you get that out of what Tu-Uyen Tran reported? He simply reported facts...I think the personal destruction of Joe Chapman was caused by Mr. Chapman.
  4. Ed Shultz has always been a controversial figure who liked to stir the pot. In his younger years he had fun with whatever he was doing, these days he seems like a mean spirited man who doesn't have any fun at all. Guess what I'm saying is, don't be like Ed Shultz.
  5. Besides the obvious talent Farve brings to the team, I think his enthisium and love of the game is what has brought the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game. To see a man of his age do this well is a real treat...it gives us 40+ guys a great lift, keep rollin Brett. I think he's proven without question that he can still play the game. If the Vikings win the Super Bowl I feel Brett will retire for good this time, if they lose next week or in the Super Bowl he will be back.
  6. I used to be a big fan of Olberman when he was on ESPN, now I can't even stand to watch him on his NBC bit on Sunday nights. Sometimes I'll turn it over to MSNBC to check out his show...Worst show in the World.
  7. I think it's kind of funny when people say that Florida State got permission from the tribes. We all know they were bought off. To their credit, Florida State responded right away after the NCAA put forth their new rules in 2005. There were some very powerful people(Governor Jeb Bush & many others) that did not want to lose the Seminole name, I wish we(Sioux nickname supporters) had some help from our political leaders.
  8. I have 3 Suite tickets available for the U.S. game on Saturday.
  9. Thank God Brett Farve did NOT retire. I have been a Vikings fan all my life, I was born the same year the Minnesota Vikings were(1961). I have obviously disliked the Packers for years, for some reason I've always liked Farve. Yesterday I brought my 7 year old son to his 1st Vikings game, what a treat for both him & I. We both wore our Brett Farve jerseys and he completes 22 for 25 with 4 touchdowns in less than 3 quarters. We had pretty good seats(35 yd line, 25th row from the field), it's amazing in person to see how he can read a defense. I know there's still some very important football to be played, but what a fantastic start thanks to Brett Farve.
  10. I don't think you could put MplsBison in the nickname supporter section. You are correct Awesome, the NCAA is the real deadline.
  11. Since FSSN is picking up the games in Alaska, does this mean they will be on Fox College Sports?
  12. We are taking this Limo Bus up on Saturday night...we have used it in the past, it's a blast.
  13. Sioux apparel is the coolest stuff out there...I know I'm biased, but seriously it is.
  14. Joe might have a little trouble enjoying the Bison football game today.
  15. Just found out we can not make it to the Sioux-Manitoba game tonight. We have 3 Suite Tickets that I'll sell for $25 each, so $75 for the 3. The tickets are in Fargo.
  16. My apologizes to The Sicatoka & dj_hoime...12:00 noon sounds good.
  17. The Sicatoka said it best in the opening of this thread. The only thing different would be the starting time...it could start at 9:30-10:00am...students could filter in after class. It would be good to remind everyone on Facebook to do it with class and respect.
  18. I agree with siouxforeverbaby on the time of 9:30am tomorrow(Thursday). I know a lot of college students have trouble getting up early, but this certainly seems like a worthy cause. The University of North Dakota has been proud of being called the Fighting Sioux since 1930. I'm very proud to wear my Fighting Sioux apparel.
  19. If I lived in Grand Forks, I would be there. Hopefully the word gets spread around today, we need people out tomorrow morning. I feel that the SBOHE will do the right thing, but you never know. If Standing Rock does vote against Ron McNeil today, they need the support of Grand Forks tomorrow.
  20. The NCAA started this 4 years ago, if "Due Process" was not played out to determine the truth, what does the process say? I know common sense takes a back door to most issues these days, but this would make a lot of people with common sense upset.
  21. If this is how it goes down...it's not going to go over very well. I mean what's right is right...right?
  22. This is becoming a real problem in the USA. I don't understand how some people with their wacked philosophies get such high postitions in our country. Hopefully the Sioux nickname will go in favor of what the majority of what people want...both the Sioux people & the general public. Saving the Sioux nickname would be a great way to get things turning in the right direction. It is quite ironic that Mr. Brand's death and the approval of Spirit Lake occured on the same day.
  23. I didn't realize we only have 3 Seniors...VandeVelde, Genoway & Zajac. Wish we had a few more upper classmen(Frattin ), but I think we have some of the better freshmen in the country. I've been fortunate to see 5 National Championships...2000 seems like a long time ago...for some reason I think this will be the year.
