That was a fantastic basketball game last night...Butler & Duke put on a great show. Your jealousy of Fighting Sioux hockey is becoming more & more transparent. We all know the answer to your smartass question, of course UND wouldn't get that kind of money. Let's get to the real world...I have been fortunate enough to witness 5 of the 7 NCAA Division 1 National Championships that the University of North Dakota hockey teams have won. Year after year the hockey team is a National power, next year we'll be right in the mix with the best in the country again. UND hockey is comparable to Duke in basketball, hockey is my favorite sport, I'm very happy with my team in the real world.

Mazzocco was obviously upset over the firing. I'm not a big fan of his, but I think he got a raw deal. It sounded like his wife & him started a photography business last year. He talked like he wanted to stay in hockey somehow, he's been doing it for almost 30 years so you can't blame the guy.

But a majority of the people here on ss.com and more importantly the people of Spirit Lake want to keep the name. The people of Standing Rock still haven't voted on the issue. You on the other hand could care less if the name remains or is done away with...there lies the difference.

I think it's funny that people want to put MplsBison on ignore. Everyone knows the situition with the nickname, espically if you're reading on this forum. I think his or her(MplsBison) comments are humorous. JPL157 is having way too much fun with MplsBison to ignore.

I think the severity of Genoway's concussion is a huge reason for the outrage from Sioux fans concerning Frattin's suspension. Looking back, pretty sure the WCHA would have rather given Marvin a 3 game suspension on the Genoway cheap shot and maybe 1 game on the Geoffrion hit at center ice. I'm ok with Frattin's 1 game suspension, like dagies said you can't have it both ways. The thing that sucks is that Frattin is playing so well.

Goon...normally I would say you probably should take it easy on Gopher fans. However, Happy is different animal.

Considering where we were 5-6 weeks ago, a 3-6 Seed sounds very good. Thanks for the info Jim.

It would definetly be better to avoid the play in game, but a lot of these guys played in the USHL(60+ game schedule) and are still young men that are conditioned very well.

That's exactly what I said. I've heard of putting words in a persons mouth, but never a persons computer.

MplsBison...we really appreciate the concern for all of us that donate to UND. I know I don't speak for everyone, but I'd say the majoriy of us want this to play out.

Finally, something we can agree on.

The Fighting Sioux nickname is something a lot of us want to hold on to. The name has credibility that even you can't deny. I think it's childish and selfish that the NCAA wants to take away the name from the majority of Native Americans that find it something to be very proud of. The Summit League knows what the deadline is.

Jocelyn Lamoureux scored a highlight goal yesterday in the Olympics. After they showed replays of the goal they mentioned that she probably worked on those moves on the ponds of North Dakota, they also gave a shout out to the University of North Dakota. I would think that there were a few people around the world watching that.

The Sioux hockey team had a larger crowd(at the game) than the Bison basketball team did in their game with Kansas the same day last March. I believe the Metrodome can hold more than the Excel Center.
