I was at the DECC in 1986 for the UND/UMD game UND had the most incredible comeback I've ever seen live. IIRC UND scored something like four goals in the last 2-3 minutes and ended up winning in OT against an excellent UMD (Brett Hull, Norm McIver, Matt Christiansen, etc) team.

It was a great season for your Sioux, they certainly had built up big mo since the series aginst MN. I've always thought loosing one of the semi-final games is tougher than loosing in the NC game, though not as bad as loosing to HC in the first round. Wish I could have seen more than 1:45 of today's game.....I got home during the timeout. That being said, still glad it's 7>5 and not 8.

Revenge vote? Interesting take. I hope all the voters cast their votes for whomever they feel is most deserving. Personally, I would vote for Carle and interestingly enough it's because a comment a Sioux fan made (maybe you?) somewhere in cyber-world. To paraphrase what was posted, Carle would get their vote because he controlled every aspect of the game as a defensemen and this is a very rare thing in college hockey. Thinking back, methinks this is why Leopold won the Hobey IMHO and I think Carle does does this at least as good, if not better, than Leo did.

One interesting note on this, in 2002 Mark Hartigan won the WCHA POY & Leopold won the DPOY. Leo went on to win the Hobey that year. Now granted it's comparing apples to oranges (DPOY & POY) but I still thought it was interesting, and many SCSU fans cried foul for the same reason you outlined above. IMHO both Carle & Potulny would be excelleng choices and I never envy Hobey voters, it's hard to compare & determine who is a better player when they play different positions.
