  1. I think MN did alter its PP early in the game. MN needs its d-men to run the PP and UND did a nice job of pressuring the points and forcing the puck low where MN is not nearly as comfortable. To counter MN snuck a guy into the high slot which forced UND to sag back some from the MN points. Didn't result in any goals but did allow MN to control the puck more while on the PP. That's what I think I saw.
  2. Fully understand....Jup only does it during the NCAAs.
  3. It makes the moderators job much easier. Fun game last night, of course it's easier to say that when your team wins. My fear is MN may have angered the beast....epscially if the boys meet again soon.
  4. UW really makes the game painfull to watch.
  5. It's not often I agree with you Goon but truer words have never been spoken. UW is the cricket of hockey: long & boring.
  6. According to the Gopher hockey history page MN beat UND 1-0 at Williams (later Mariucci) in 83-84.
  7. Toews undressed Vanelli with a sick move in the first and I don't think he (Vanelli) ever recovered.
  8. Gordon will be back tomorrow. Pohl and Kaufmann are out - next week at the earliest for Kaufmann IIRC (knee) and a little longer for Pohl (shoulder).
  9. UND took over in the second and never looked back, in fact I would guess UND had the puck 60-70% of the time after the first period. In hindsight, the shorty really changed big mo in UND's favor.
  10. The BADgers couldn't score in a whorehouse.
  11. I figured you were just blocking....after all Ballard schooled some poor over-matched Sioux forward in the corner, jumped into the play and scored the game winner. Meanwhile, back in MN's end, the poor over-matched Sioux forward pulled his jersey down just in time to see the Gophers celebrate the beginning of a glorious post season run. What does this have to do with this weekend's series? Absolutely nothing other than it's fun to reminisce. I remember this one time in Detroit when this freshman from Roseau flicks the puck over the Sioux goalie.....
  12. Regular season. MN swept UND out of the WCHA playoffs in 2002.
  13. I just never expected someone so hip to be so old. How's that for a backhanded compliment? However, you're still not old enough to get one of the coveted gold Mariucci "security" jackets.
  14. MN hasn't swept UND at home in a regular season series in 11 years but did sweep the Sioux out of the playoffs in 2002. Last year was a split. 6-1 2-4 (with an ENG)
  15. Here's another one, four goals were scored before the game's first save was made.
  16. No, I usually use the Oak Street ramp. It's easier for me to get out after games.
  17. Parking isn't nearly as bad as it's been suggested earlier in this thread, I don't think any lots have closed yet due to stadium construction. Personally, I usually park in the ramp right by Sally's, it's only $5, not a bad walk, and one is near Sally's or Stub's for post game libations.
  18. You may want to rephrase that.
  19. My New Years' resolution: Hate the Sioux more. Happy New Year, ss.comers!
  20. Jup turns the heavy handed stuff over to the GPL moderators, and at least one of them is a real weenie..... I can't remember for sure, but I don't think I've had to censor a Sioux fan (at least those from this site who post on GPL too) for being crude or inflammatory and of course one would hope Gopher fans would extend the same courtesy to this site.
  21. Hopefully (in Okposo's case) long enough to become a free agent.

Where is the ocean in GF? Part of the Ralph? Just curious. MN typically practices at Ridder before a series or game played on an NHL size rink.
