I have a WCHA yearbook (somewhere?) at home (from 2002) that has a year-by-year history so I can check to see what the 1-4 & 1-5 seedings were. If I can find the book I will try to post the information. I'm pretty sure MN was not at at least one, if not both, FF's at the Target Center and I seem to remember UW not being at one of the Milwaukee FF's. BTW - IMO UW fans are great UW hockey fans but not so much good hockey fans.

I never go ballistic. Some history: 1988-1993, 1995, 1997 - St. Paul CC 1994-1996-1998 - Bradley Center, Milwaukee 1999-2000 - Target Center, Mpls. 2001-2003 - Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul - I don't have last year's numbers. Average attendance at the BC was 12K, 9K, & 7K. Approximate attendance at the CC was between 11-12K. At the TC it was 8 & 9K and at the X attendance jumped to 13K, 14K, & 15K. Edit - I've always said give Denver a chance to host, I'd love to see how it would do and what a great week it could be...ski for 3-4 days and watch hockey for 3 days.

Don't forget the the team "formerly known as POI" gets 5 players plus a goalie and SS.com gets 4 players plus PCM in nets rule.

loos - is that your brother on the Spuds? He was a fun player to watch too. What are his plans for post HS? BTW - In my mind it will be an upset of epic proportions if the Spuds don't win this thing.

I thought Lee was the best player I saw yesterday, no contest. He reminds some of Leopold and I think Lee is going to drive me insane the next several year.

Nice....I can see the BADger faithful on USCHO working themselves into a frenzy now over this accusation.

For the record: I am NOT Craig Dahl.

I assume you're looking for a serious answer. Pick a situation and turn it into a game in a small area. The NJD are probably the organization that most popularized the concept. In fact, one of the games we use is called New Jersey. Basically, it's 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 keep-a-way in an area about 10X10 or so along the boards. The theory is everything a player needs to be successful needs to be done in a small area. You can also think organized shinny hockey, to coin an oxymoron. For example, we will put the net against the end boards or in the corner and have the guys play 2X2 inside the goal line. We also add conditions like a team has to make a pass to a coach/player playing outside the area to go on offense, or the must make two passes or make a bounce pass off the boards before the can shoot. We sometimes add a player in a "safe zone" and the team on offense has to work a give and go with him before a shot can be made. The variations, once you think about it, are endless. Another great one is put two nets back-to-back between the blue line & goal line. Play 3X3 with one goalie and the goalie has to go back and forth between the nets. They hate that one. The key is to 1) keep feeding pucks as goals are scored or pucks leave the area, 2) keep the times short (we do 30-45 seconds to simulate shifts), 3) make it situational, and 4) make it fun.

I think either of the Bail Bonds jerseys would be appropriate for the SS.com gang!

Hint for UND players: Don't try to shoot the puck through the goalie.

If I were to guess this is one of the reasons POI disappeared, it would seem to me running a site successfully with a message board would take extreme diligence. As Sal & UPB's priorities in life evolved they just didn't appear to have time to monitor the site. I can't blame them for their decision and I would be willing to bet had Jup not had GPL in place they would not have pulled the trigger.

Hee-hee, I just read the thread title and caption. Pretty funny!

I read this site for the same reason I read any site: information & banter. Not looking for any "props" but I will say JD does a great job here.

So you'll be at Mass?

Very sad.....by condolences to coach Hakstol's family.

I could not agree more. There is nothing more difficult than a freshman defenseman coming into the WCHA and making significant contributions.
-
Yes, but was not (ahem) a major contributor.

I imagine Mr. Englestad would be rolling in his grave if he knew basketball had tainted the REA.

Not quite, MN is 2-2 in last 4 games - MN swept Mankato (@ the X and in Mankato) the previous weekend. MN is, however, 0-4 the during the last four home games and losing to a dog like Tech is unacceptable.

Irresponsible regardless of who was pulled over. Thank God the only ramification is Greene's (alleged) DUI and hopefully he will learn from this mistake. Most importantly, there were no injuries to him or the innocent.
