Yes and no. Geohring (Eric Westum & Brad Defaw were also on that team) was in goal against Duluth East, but it was a semi-final game. AV had to come back and win the champ game the next night. I think East came back to take third.

We tried for the entire game, and I thought at times last year's game was actually too competitive. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail this year and it will be a good pick up game. Last year felt like a bar or work league game, but w/o refs. But don't get me wrong, Bacardio & I were discussing post game electrolyte replenishment during pregame!

Ok, I'm giving myself credit for this one. Waibel scores one second after Koalka's penalty expires - and Koalska was barely back on the ice. That's a shorty in my world. Bad news is MN gives up a shorty as well... ...but still gets the win against Bucky 3-2.

How far back does Sconny sag? At time it seemed UW's players were more of a problem to Brukler than the Gophers. As I mentioned, as bad as UW's PK is its PP is worse. I bet MN gets a shorty tonight and would bet UND gets more than one shorty next weekend.

3PP & one 4X4 UND will absolutely kill UW next weekend. UW is faster than last year but still not as fast as MN. I haven't seen UND live so it's hard to judge, but from what I saw on TV they are at least as fast as MN. UW won very few races for the puck. Edit - UW's PP is horrible - they were lucky to get one good chance per PP and MN had several good shorty chances. UW also sags on the penalty kill, which allows skilled teams to move the puck at will.

Bad news for hockey fans who get FSN. Regionals are now on Victory.

NDH - To answer your questions. 1. I will stick with NCAA titles in my sig line. While the AAU title is certainly an outstanding accomplishment, it seems like a reach to me to add it. Now if I was a JBSU fan.... 2. Can't go to the fleet and don't have tix. It's Easter weekend and my wife and I 1) don't want to be away from the kids at that time and 2) are already bringing them to Palm Desert, CA for a week in Feb. They can't miss anymore school and after golfing down there for a week I will have very little $$$$ left. Sagard & WPoS more than covered the rest. Good luck against DU and for the rest of the regular season. I'm in the unusual position of cheering for UND for the balance of the season. I've conceded the MacNaughton to UND and anytime y'all beat up other WCHA teams it can't hurt the Gophers in the race for number 2.
