You sent the Sconny fans into a collective cardiac arrest.
Or, was that the bratworst & paint thinner??
I voted "other." Ring....ring.....ring....
Actually, I didn't want to be a (complete) arse, I voted for Hakstol.
Someone (CD) is already saddled up (CD) next to the (CD) phone.
How is DB's family doing? I would suspect that would be a significant factor in his decision.
Thanks, PCM. I just like bring up the '79 team lost in the finals. As Billy Christian said about Herb Brooks just after the Olympics (paraphrased), in the past year coach Brooks and I have been involved in two of the biggest upsets in hockey.
They were an amazing offensive team. That whole era from the early to mid-70s through the mid to late-80s was very offensive.
I just emerged from seclusion.
Sic - just out of curiosity, why aren't WCHA tournament banners hung at REA? I can see not hanging NCAA runner-up or other such banners (I think MN should take those down) but the WCHA tourney title is a legitimate banner to hang IMO.
BTW -not a flame...just a curiosity. I suspect it's because the WCHA tourney has such a strange history - i.e. co-winners for many, many years.
I did. After 3-4 years of UND beating MN like a rug there had to be a little voice in the back of the Gopher player's heads telling them they could still loose the series. It's just Ballard's little voice was a little more...ahem....agressive than most.
Ummm, you may want to rethink this. I'd guess about half were NHL busts and several have gone onto stellar careers. Off the top of my head:
Broten
Kariya
Leetch
Morrison
Plus, the winner's actual (or potential) NHL career has no bearing on the award.
