If SDSU and NDSU go to the Mid Con then the DI question at UND is dead. The BSC has to act fast, which I hope they do but I wouldn't bet on it. No DI conference is going to pick up 1 school located in ND with no travel partner. Then again both conferences might sit back and wait and see what shakes out. It's going to be an interesting 2 months.

The number 1 reason that UND didn't go DI when NDSU did is they were very happy with DI hockey and dii with everything else. As long as NDSU was dii, life was GOOD. You can list all the reasons you want but UND never gave moving to DI in all sports a thought when NDSU did. Hence all the comments from UND's coaches and athletic dept. when NDSU announced their move.

Kupchella on WDAY sports - sounded like he would only go DI for individual sports. Not sure what conference would accept only fb & bb and nothing else?

They are a scholarship team - everyone in the Ohio Valley is.

you'll give them a game and who knows "any given Saturday" - No way the Gophers asked UND for a fb game, it would count against them for the BCS.

So NDSU burned the bridges by moving to DI? I don't remember NDSU running their mouth off like UND. If NDSU burned the bridges why is UND looking at moving to DI? Must have been the smart move. What effect will UND's move up to DI have on the NCC?

The only reason UND gets more consideration is because they have a medical school and law school.

Using your logic why don't you wait another 3 years and save another 10 million? Just remember if NDSU hadn't gone DI - UND wouldn't even be thinking about it. Some lead - some follow.

This can't be true - remember star2city says that UND has saved 10 million by not going DI.

First of all we have 9 games already scheduled for 07-08. 07-08 you'll be in limo. You may have saved some travel cost (not close to 10 million) by following NDSU, UNC, and SDSU's lead if and it's a big IF we get into a conference. Fact is you'll have moved up to DI without a conference something everyone on this board said is the leading factor you didn't move up before. It's not written in stone that the BSC will move to 12 teams, they could just as easily take 1 and be a 10 team conference or stay where they are. If you move up now the only reason will be jealousy, nothing has changed from 3 years ago.
