I would say it was 50-50 on Bison Fans - you seem to say it was ALL Bison fans? Yes in a perfect world the BSC would be a better fit, but it's not a perfect world.

Besides the 2 Montana schools the rest of the BSC doesn't hold any more interest than any team in the Mid-Con. I don't think the alumni base would give more one way or the other. If the GWFC is stable I don't see a real advantage of the BSC (besides the Montana schools). I'm trying to figure out why most of the UND fans scum the Mid-Con and say it's BSC or nothing. Believe me when the time comes you'll jump at any DI conference invite whether it's the Mid-Con or not.

If NDSU gets into the Mid-Con they will stay put. The BSC will not expand east to the Dakota's, too much traveling for the west coast teams (at lease in their eyes). If the Mid-Con stays stable - UND will be waiting for a long time for a conference. usd going DI, they don't have the facilities or money. They'll need some major monies for the upgrade. The reason Fullerton is spouting off is he knows that the BSC will never come east.

And who is going to PAY for that? I doubt that the city is going to kick anymore in!

You really have a thing for Dr. Chapman. Too bad - best president in the group by far. UND and their alumni are scared of him and the success of NDSU. With him at the helm it won't be long before NDSU overtakes UND in students, that's why this is even being discussed.

I can't remember when the state of ND financed an athletic facility at NDSU. They have been mostly financed by private monies. I think the smaller schools get their facilities payed for by the state. ie Minot State bb arena.

Did you see the sales tax report for the first quarter of 2006. Of the 4 largest cities gf brings up the rear with only 3.3 % increase. Not even keeping up with inflation. Like I said stagnant. Fargo 413.1 6.1% Bismark 246 13.7% gf 180 3.3% Minot 138 8.9%

Your jealously of Dr. Chapman is profound. The big problem is UND and what they and their supportors will do to keep the funding of NDUS the same. Protecting their own turf at the expense of the rest of the NDUS is all gf and UND are after, not the betterment of the NDUS.

Very wishful thinking on your part. Unless something happens to some of the members in the BSC, there not coming East for any member (specially only 1). If anything it's a bad day for DI UND. If the Mid-Con is content with 10 members and BSC doesn't feel the need to expand (specially east) will UND really make the move? Hell if the Mid Con didn't lose 2 of their members do you really think they'd be making this move?

I think your kidding yourself if you think that Kupchella has a invite lined up. The quest for a conference isn't hopeless, if NDSU and SDSU get into a conference, UND's logic would be that since they are so close to both that's it's a given for them to join the same one. It will be interesting 2 years from now if NDSU is in the Mid Con and UND doesn't have any good propects for a conference if Kupchella will put the trigger? Or is UND committed? Pretty hard to go back to your athletes and tell them dii is forever.

Who's going to pay for that? Oh I know out of the profits.
