That could have been for anything - coaches teaching, etc. - just because you can't find any line item for it in UND's budget doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I don't think UND would let NDSU get by with getting those funds and not get their fair share. How long will the womens hockey team get the waivers?

The move to start the womens hockey team is already costing the state money because of the tuition waivers used.

What did UND pay for crookston? Same quality team.

That's the quality of dii now. UND has played moorhead plenty of times and when NDSU was playing moorhead UND was playing crookston. I was at the game and what do you do when you play all your guys? I'm glad they were pissed - maybe they would start to field a tolerable team but they went down hill from there. Funny how UND fans only remember the moorhead game and not all the other quality teams NDSU has brought in over the last 20 years.

I think it all depends on the school. It's like the diiis moving to dii, how many will be powerhouses in dii? Very few. Same thing for dii moving to DI. Everyone knows this and these studies provide very little information that's not already known. Each school has their own strenghts and weakness for the move and how they handle their weaknesses in the move will tell how successful they will be.

There are dii schools sprouting all around gf - so geography shouldn't be an obstacle. The fact is NDSU sees dii in decline (quality wise) and UND doesn't. As far as scholarship reductions in dii, it's just a matter of time. NDSU is taking a proactive stance and moved to DI and UND is waiting to see what happens. I don't think either position is wrong it's just a difference in what they think is best for their own schools.

This isn't smack - but doesn't anyone (sue fans) wonder about the quality of people that applied for & are being interviewed for the AD job at UND. One diii and one dii guy and no DI assistant AD's. Is the word out that Bollinger has the job or what? Something doesn't smell right. You would think that there would be a great list of applicants.

Have you ever considered that the ncc has developed into a conference of mediocrity? Your saying all the teams are tough now. Why don't you get the rose colored glasses off and get into the real world.

Think about it dakotaboy - this is a ncc all conference team - you have to pick the players in the conference, it doesn't necessarily mean their great players. Besides UND there isn't much strength. Look at the regional with all those powerful teams. Can any sue fan look at the regional teams and not smile.

You mean the UND season ticket holders (hockey) that are forced to purchase football tickets? Not the other UND fans that had to shell out the extra $11.00 to pay for womens hockey.
