  1. And Woog announces that dagies was given a phantom assist
  2. Also against Karl is the fact that he is up against a number one draft pick in Leclaire. Not only does Karl have to win advancement to the NHL but Leclaire has to lose it.
  3. Speaking of Double standards, a Sioux player would have got a major for the cross-check that Vanek delivered to Parise's throat.
  4. I think for the most part we are in agreement and who knows what is going through the head of all of the forwards as well. The night before it was two odd man rushes that lead to the CC goals because the responsible forwards were caught up ice. However, unless things change HAK can only afford to go with those players who do not commit defensive errors and that goes for some of the seniors as well if we hope to win games 1-0 or 2-1. Clearly it was just such an error in judgement the previous week that cost Parise his spot in the goaltending rotation. Unfortunately, error free hockey may be this teams only hope for success this season and this past weekend against number one they showed that for the most part they can do it.
  5. I was merely implying that he could have laid him out. He also could have muscled him harmlessly towards the boards. Instead he tried to swipe at the puck with his stick and the Tiger went around him. Either way it was a mistake that lead to a goal.
  6. Yes, it was that line and just inside the blueline Smaby decided to try and play the puck instead of the man. He could have laid the Tiger out but instead CC found themselves with a two on one and converted.
  7. I was informed by a CC fan that only their players are awarded the three stars.
  8. Actually, Saturday night was that kind of domination. I was there!
  9. I didn't watch an average Sioux team play this weekend so you must be talking about the wome's team?
  10. To offset some of the negative posts here is another plus from the weekend. We held the two NCAA leading scorers and HB candidates to one assist each over the weekend! Fans, in hockey you have to take the lows with the highs. Maybe this year won't turn out the way we had hoped but even the CC coach and fans know they don't want to play out team again.
  11. He even threw the best hit by a Sioux last night. He had a solid weekend against the number one team!
  12. I think what is greatly overshadowed by these losses were that there were only 3 mistakes made by the Sioux defense over the weekend. That is VERY good considering how porous their defense was (not saying that it was a problem as they won both games).
  13. Just back from the game and here is my take. It was like watching last years regional final all over again as the Sioux dominated the game start to finish. Even Anderson did a reasonable job. To their credit CC cashed in on the one glaring error inside the blueline when 27 tried to play the puck instead of the man. Fylling had the best scoring chance on a break with Zaba deep in his crease, but unlike the old number nine he shot it right into the CC crest. I can tell you that the lack of goals is getting just as frustrating for the players as it is for the fans. You can see it on all of their faces. It likely contributed to Fuhr getting a major for slashing at the end of the game so he will miss the next one. Also to the credit of the CC Dmen, they do one heck of a job getting their bodies and sticks in the way of scoring chances. Bina gets my vote as the Sioux player of the weekend. We had a nice alumni get together with the coaches prior to the game and Eades corrected me regarding Murray. It was not a chop that injured him, rather it was the contact in the post game scrum. Like all upper body injuries they are probably waiting for the swelling to go down and we may not know the true extent until the next Coaches show.
  14. Zajac couldn't cash in because the CC did a great job of smothering him. At times it was a borderline mugging.
  15. Things could get ugly for College Hockey if the WHA does kick off next season and the NHL decides to employ replacement players. There is only so much talent to go around and we may be truly grateful that Hak went after so many talented players that are still high school players.
  16. Absolutely! When was JJs last start? Week One?
  17. Why do most young men go to the Academy. He must feel that he is better suited to be a fighter jockey vs a pro hockey player.
  18. As of the Christmas break not very well. It would appear that both Briggs and their Freshmen defense are burned out.
  19. Guys, cut Murray some slack. How well do you skate and play with a brace on a bum knee. I noted that the brace was bothering him at tonights game.
  20. I just got back from the game and all three goals were scored at my end of the rink. I can tell you that the Sioux played well and that both CC goals were due to a lack of backchecking and yes it was number 9 again on the game winner. I am not trying to offend any of his fans but it really is time for him to take a seat and think about his play or lack thereof. Number 20 seems to just drift aimlessly about the rink and I am beginning to believe that although he has the skills he doesn't have the hockey smarts required at this level. All of the defensemen did reasonably well and considering he was up against the number one team Radke had a solid game as did Bina. Finally, the referee, Anderson, was letting almost anything go for most of the third period. The players on both teams took note and started to take liberties with each other. Why he would wait until the last four minutes to start calliing again is beyond me Finally, Murray took a viscious chop to his right arm at the end of the game and left the arena in considerable pain. It didn't look good
  21. Based on Sioux and WCHA history you would think that 20 year old Canadians remain the answer. Unfortunately there are too many pro options today between North America and Europe as well as more junior teams. Therefore, the talent pool is over-tapped compared to the glory days. Therefore, the Sioux coaches should be commended for going out and landing highly ranked talent that despite their young years should be able to outplay the available 20 year olds.
  22. Yes, In fact the top four are in Major
