  1. Right you are, so I stand corrected, he already is a real Gopher.
  2. I believe that Zajac will be this seasons pleasant surprise.
  3. Do you have any proof that he has already been to Blarney's or is this just word of mouth.
  4. The team has the required depth at all positions and IMO the total number of goals scored this season should hinge on the progression of two key D-men, Lee and Radke. If both can realize their offensive potential this season, this lineup has the potential to set an all-time Sioux goal scoring record.
  5. He is joking which is why he inserted the wink.
  6. I can't wait
  7. At least the Sioux goalies will decide who is the #1 on the ice instead of in a beer drinking contest at Blarney's
  8. I was not a Scott Stevens fan but I never considered any of his checks to be illegal or cheap. Others like Phaneuf have taken over where he left off so if you cut across ice at the blueline with your head down you had better be ready for impact. For those who do like it there is always croquet
  9. Although they won't miss his D blunders, Harrington was a big factor in UMTC scoring last season. If and when he did get possesion of the puck he was very good at the quick and accurate passes. I still believe that when it comes to scoring this years UMTC team will be quite challenged hence my comments within the rankings thread. I would imagine that Ogopogo will be given enough ice time that he should outscore Watkins but I would give the nod to the Sioux players for all of the other pairings.
  10. For those who pick the Gophers to be in the top three at the start of the season I would like to hear where you think they will get their leadership and scoring from. Ogopogo is probably the only can't miss freshman but he can't carry the team's scoring by himself. Despite their talent the Sioux had a slow start last season with that many freshmen in their lineup too. UMTC will be fortunate to stick in the top 10 until after Christmas.
  11. 1. UND 2. Wisconsin 3. Minnesota 4. St Cloud 5. UMD 6. Denver 7. CC 8. AA 9. MSM 10.MTU
  12. Here is an interesting article for anyone who believes that both the one move wonder and the Don are assets to their team. In this article, one move's dad states that his little boy dropped in the draft because he wasn't utilized correctly by the Don. We may never know the whole truth regarding what went on behind the scenes but it certainly appears that things were far from perfect in Lala Land. http://www.startribune.com/512/story/620230.html
  13. Isn't it about time to kill this thread
  14. PCM where did you find the PK smiley. It looks just like him as he was laid out by the Canadian D-man at the WJC.
  15. Given his condition I would think that there has to be some personal risk in resuming the pressure of playing DI hockey. I wouldn't want the responsibility of making the decision to play him.
  16. He was against Alaska.
  17. As much fun as it would have been to see him poison the Goof locker room I am glad that we won't have to discuss Phil the Krill (formerly known as the one move wonder) again.
  18. If it was a serious knee injury he wouldn't have gone to the camp. The available press stated that he was riding the stationary bike while he was there, just not playing so I buy the line that he had only tweaked it.
  19. If you are refering to the Gryba situation the article was refering to the fact that if he wanted to go the Major Junior route in Canada he could only play for the WHL team that owned his rights. He could have gone to the Tier II BCJHL if he had wanted to.
  20. In terms of basic salary they would at least be very close but any guesses on what kind of a signing bonus he might get.
  21. By not accepting the player transfer deal the Russians will cut their own throats. More of their Elite young players will come to North America to play major junior hockey and they won't get a "Red" cent for any of them. Then they can step directly into the NHL ranks without all this nonsense just as Quebec City's Alexander Radulov will do this coming season. The loser in this case is the Moscow Dynamo. http://www.russianprospects.com/public/pro...p?player_id=273
  22. Also, one other question for those who may know more: Is there some rule where Canadian players have to play Junior A (or Tier I or whatever it is that isn't major juniors) in the prospective conferences whence they originate? So, for example, David Toews would have to play in the MJHL if he were to play in Canadian Juniors? (does Quebec even have a non major junior Tier I hockey league?) I can't seem to find any information about this ruling but I seem to recall a player recently running into that problem when he wanted to play in the BCHL but couldn't because he was from Saskatechewan (I want to say this was Eric Gryba, but I can't be sure).. Maybe I'm not using the right keywords in the google search...
  23. I can believe this typical troll response Wow
  24. I got corrected already, it was Rick.
