  1. I also prefer the Sioux Center 99% of the time, but if they were to put together a doubleheader with the men and women for the NDSU game in the REA, I would be down with that.
  2. Do you have the dates yet for UNI and NDSU?
  3. UNI has only been here once since the move to DI.
  4. As a dyed in the wool, life long New England fan, I am loving this.
  5. As optimistic as I am, given the continued state of flux that the offense is in there is no way I could say with a straight face that the Wyoming game is one of the "winnable" ones on the 2015 schedule. If I am wrong, I'll gladly eat crow. Having said that, I certainly don't expect a lop sided outcome similar to the one that San Jose St. put us in last year's opener.
  6. It is funny how SUU and UND came into the league together at the same time, yet SUU managed to get the right logo in place.
  7. I am quite surprised that neither Rough Riders or Nokota will apparently not be considered. Not really a fan of either, but figured both would probably be amongst the Top 5 or so in the end.
  8. I was really bummed when that closed as a Boston's and reopened as Space Aliens........
  9. To add fuel to the fire, the Red Pepper does nothing for me either......
  10. I went there about a year ago for the first time. I don't get what all the fuss is about. It was fine, but nothing special.
  11. Most conferences have all of their teams participate, so I am not surprised by that change. It doesn't mean the regular season is meaningless. It was just a unique feature of the Big Sky that I felt set it apart a little bit, and made some regular season games more intense.
  12. Here is the official press release. As expected, all 12 teams will participate. I totally understand the financial and logistical reasons for doing this. All things considered, Reno was the logical choice among the candidates, even though I hate it, I understand it. Billings really shot themselves in the foot by only bidding the men's side. Ogden/SLC/Weber shot themselves in the foot by not pursuing an off campus venue. I think the thing I will miss the most about the old format even more than the champion hosting, is that not all teams got into the tournament. That alone really made the regular season exciting. I know attendance is probably one of the least important factors in something like this, but I really question whether or not the title game will even draw 2,000 fans even if it is Weber v. Montana who have the best fanbases.
  13. I think if Weber would have found a different venue in or around SLC, they would have had a great chance to host. It is really too bad because the Maverik Center in West Valley City, UT would have been a perfect venue. Easy travel, and real close the Big Sky's biggest basketball fan base. Sac St. is really the only close Big sky school to Reno, and they won't bring anyone. The financial part of their bid must have blown everybody away.
  14. Looks like it is going to be Reno............ Billings outbid for Big Sky Conference Basketball Championships, Reno likely winner Personally, between Billings, Spokane, Ogden, and Reno, I have felt Reno was the worst option.
  15. Look for some news on this front sometime today......................
  16. MTS Centre looks like a fun atmosphere to watch hockey in. I'm going to have to get to a Jets game next season.
  17. I'm usually the last guy to make comparison's between North Dakota and NDSU, but this "Spring Game" thing is a little irritating to me. NDSU Spring Game: Carried live on statewide TV. North Dakota Spring Game: No bathrooms, but there will be Porta-Potties if we are lucky................................
  18. I think it would be well worth it. I'm on board for any way possible to divert more funds toward FB, MBB, WBB, and VB. Of the 21 sports that UND offers, there are only 5 that have the opportunity to either generate revenue or break even. Time to trim the fat.
  19. I kind of thought that baseball and womens hockey would be close offsetting one another, although I admittedly don't know the scholarship numbers for either sport.
  20. Please throw in women's hockey with those two.
  21. I submitted Fighting Saints and Reapers.
  22. If I recall correctly, everyone other than the hockey coach was on one year contracts until Buning got here. I seem to remember press releases around that time that Roebuck and Lennon were the first coaches (other than hockey) to get multi year contracts.
