That was a crappy goal!

I just heard on CSTV at the end of the Michigan-Quinnipiac game that Michigan is opening NEXT season with two games at North Dakota. Anyone else heard this? Do they schedule this far in advance?
-
Awesome, looks like 8 regular season Sioux games will be available on National cable tv this year with the combinations of CSTV/ESPNU/Fox Regional Networks. I hope FSN North televises the Final Five again this year, and I'd assume ESPNU will be in GF for the regional. ESPNU has no schedule listed past November, so maybe more will be on later in the season as well.

What? Yet another school with a FREE webcast?
-
I love the shootout, and the trapezoid.
-
I agree, also all CSTV/ESPNU games of UND are UND home games. I suppose that is because the Ralph has what they need to broadcast. But for those of us that get FSSN, it would be nice if more away games were on TV.
-
Wisconsin vs North Dakota on Nov. 4 is on though! http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlisting...rk=99&sport=all

The North Dakota/Denver game on Oct 28 is no longer listed on ESPNU's schedule. Instead it is Minnesota at St. Cloud. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlisting...rk=99&sport=all CSTV will televise this game.

Don't you only need six schools to have an autobid?

I agree that UND could not likely add scholarships at the rampant rate that NDSU appears to be. And with a 5 year wait to qualify for the post season, I wouldn't see a need to. Throwing out the exploratory year, for football alone we'd only need to add 6 to 7 schollies per year in order to be fully funded by the time we are eligable for the playoffs. NDSU would certainly be the better team during our transition years, but I disagree that we would be substantially behind them. They have proven in their first two years in I-AA that the leap for a program from the top of DII to I-AA is not as big a gap as they would like to think. I think the top scholarship priority in the first few years of move to DI should be focused on volleyball and women's basketball. From what I saw, NDSU/SDSU scheduling woes were far more severe in basketball than they were in football.

Good to see that FSSN will broadcast some basketball games again this year. 3 men's and 2 women's games. IMHO they should televise all confernce games on cable. http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?sh...pic=1583&st=620 http://www.midcocomm.com/editable_content/...hedule0506.html

My spin is that (I'm hoping) Lennon was told that UND would be going I-AA within the next 5 years. I would think that otherwise, he would want to keep his options open, because after his six years here, I'd think that alot of I-AA head coaching positions and probably some I-A assistant positions would be knocking on his door.

If "Sioux" is a name given to the Lakota/Dakota/Nakota Indian tribes by the Chippewa, shouldn't we be asking the Chippewa Tribes for permission to use it? Since I am part Chippewa, I'm offended that another tribe is offended by one of our tribal words.

I'm in favor of what has been suggested on the site many times, if we are forced to not use Fighting Sioux, than use no nickname at all. The fans will carry it on, the interlocking ND would be the official logo.
-
I love this idea. I love the Fighting Sioux name and can't imagine UND going by any other name. Losing the ability to host hockey regionals, or the men's and women's Elite 8, is of little consequence. But If our football, basketball teams, or any other athletic program can never play a home playoff game, I have to reconsider. I love the name but I love our teams to have success more.

Game is on FSSN, Midco Cable or FTA satellite.
-
Attendance: 8,952 Poor showing for NCC opener versus a geographically close team that has played us closely the past few years.

I see that the UND at New Hampsire game on Oct. 22 is televised on New Hampsire Public Television. Any chance this station can be picked up on KU? http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/tvsk...084a31e87cd0cc5

You can receive all Sioux home hockey games, a few football games, and maybe a few basketball games as well if you invest in a KU free to air satellite system. Fairly inexpensive at around $200-$300. Check out the "Sioux on Satellite" thread in this hockey forum to find out more, contact PSB or Iceberg, they can help set you up.

I wonder why the gopher game? I'm sure that game will be on both FSSN and Fox Sports North.
-
COOL!!! Do you have a link to ESPNU's entire schedule? Any away games that won't be on FSSN? BTW, welcome back to Petersburg, maybe I'll run into you at the Town Pump II, I get up there every once in a while.

It said in the Herald today that there were NFL scouts from Philadelphia and Jacksonville at yesterday's game looking at Chris Kuper, Digger Anderson, and Jeff Glas. I'm sure Glas' performance made them take note.
-
Is there a college division of "Worlds Strongest Man"? I hope not, because if there is we all know ESPNU would televise "Worlds Strongest Co-ED", or "Dorm Room Poker Showdown" over college hockey. My hopes are not real high for ESPNU. Nice concept though.

Good game today. Nice showing by the fans. As usual the defense was stellar, but seemed to allow WW to convert on alot of third downs. This was by far the best showing by the offense so far this season. Easily Belmore's best game, he looked poised and confident, and I can only remember him missing one throw. Dressler was fantastic as usual. His catch and long run for a TD was display of him turning on the afterburners. The punt return TD that got called back was unfortunate, but it was the right call. It was the block that freed him, the tackler missed him by only a foot or so. Glas was great, hitting two monster field goals, 48 and 52 yards I think. But for some reason he wasn't booming kickoffs into the endzone today as usual.

I just did a search for "North Dakota" on the Tivo, and on Monday night 9/19/05, NFL Network is airing Football America. The title description says "Backyard Brawls--Harlem Hellcats; North Dakota; rivalries". I'd assume this is the one done a few years ago that feautred the Sioux/Bison rivalry. It starts at 9:00 p.m. in case anyone is interested.
