  1. Sounds good to me. The basketball conference sucks now, it's too short. Having a relatively close school would be nice. I still don't see what would keep Winona in the NSIC if they had a chance at the NCC. As far as football goes, I still say the RMAC pisses me off, trying to reduce scholarships. Nebraska-Kearney would be great for UNO and everyone else too. Mesa St. seems to always be on the schedule and would be a good replacement for Northern Colorado.
  2. I'm glad to see that no one is looking past Boston University.
  3. I know this isn't an accurate reflection of fan support for either school, but here are the statistics from Siouxsports.com vs. the NDSU message board. Membership: siouxsports.com 1531 vs bison 673 Topics: siouxsports.com 3600 vs bison 2300 Posts: siouxsports.com 85,000 vs bison 33000 This obviously doesn't mirror the actual fan support. Some of them use this site, some of us post on that one. I don't know how many NDSU graduates are familiar with computers.
  4. I even think raiding the RMAC of Nebraska-Kearney and/or Mesa State would be better than looking to Washington schools. Doesn't this conference want to go NAIA anyways?
  5. Washington is too far. The NCC needs to look closer within the region, but also for a quality program. Could Winona St. ever be lured away from the NSIC? I think they would be a great addition to the NCC. We've already had a couple of good playoff games with them in recent years. Plus if Minot is going DII, they'd be an excellent replacement for them in the NSIC.
  6. Brad DeFauw was my favorite. I had an 8:00 a.m. english class with him and it seemed like he came to class with a new "shiner" about every third Monday of the month. He was a tough guy.
  7. This sioux offense is in disarray. I can't believe we can't get shot on goal from any closer than the blue line. They were pathetic during our powerplay in the 2nd. The defense is bad, too.
  8. I know this is another dumb question, but I am still new to hockey. I have been religiously watching hockey games this year on FSSN and attending them at REA but I want to know why I have never seen a penalty shot. I heard them talking about possible penalty shots during the World Juniors but never saw one. Is this something that is just very rare or is it not used in college hockey?
  9. Digger would probably make a serviceable safety in the NFL. I think he is too undersized to make it as a linebacker. He is undoubtedly one of, if not the best in DII, and would rank right up there even in DI. Kupe strikes me as Ben Olsen type player, dominating at this level with alot of potential, possibly a free agent rookie type player. I think Glas is just too inconsistent. He hasn't been the same this season after his injury. He possibly could have been a late round draft pick after his awesome sophomore season, but after this season I have "sporadic" confidence in him.
  10. I have an old primestar dish that I got out of a friend's garbage pit. These dishes are 1.2 meter in size. I have never had a problem with signal during a game. Normally about 45%, a few 70%, and one or two 90%+. My only problem has been my Satwork 3688 receiver, as I've been having some apparent overheating or other type of equipment trouble. I don't think Satwork is top of the line merchandise. As far as the dish goes though, size does matter as my signal has consistently been well above what those of you with the smaller dishes or "siouxshop.com" dishes have been reporting. My advice: go dumpster diving for old primestar dishes.
  11. I now have nothing after the first 2 minutes. REA is starting to piss me off. I'm going outside to tweak.
  12. Test card is up, only 45%. It'll work but a huge drop off from the last game.
  13. What is the date of the upcoming NCAA meeting when they will discuss reducing DII scholarships? That's this month isn't it?
  14. I had about 48% through the first period last night, and then lost everything for the rest of the game. Tonight is so far so good: 90% quality with the primestar dish and satwork 3688 with no wavering whatsoever! Go Sioux!!!
  15. Thanks NorthDakotaHockey, that helps. One more thing, how do they decide which five they play four times and which four they play twice?
  16. I am also relatively new to hockey. I went to UND from 1996 to 2000 and attended several hockey games each year, basically because it seemed like the thing to do, it was free to students back then, and just to pass the time. I was lucky enough to marry a woman who is a sports nut like me! We now have season tickets to football, attend a few basketball games, and have secured tickets to several hockey games. I really don't know much about hockey, and have more than a few dumb questions that I am too embarrassed to even ask. But one that I would really like someone to explain to me right away is the point system for the standings. Our record doesn't matter, it depends upon how many points a team accumulates? How does a team get points?
  17. Did anyone else's signal just die during the 2nd intermission? I now have nothing.
  18. Only 48% tonight, compared to 90% last week. Hope it all holds! Go Sioux!!!!!!!!!!1
  19. I see on lyngsat.com, the CCTV channels aren't listed anymore as of yesterday. What will this do to pointing the dish to find the sioux this weekend?
  20. I've got 90% quality right now with the old primestar dish, hasn't really moved. I watched the football game on the local channel so I don't know what it was doing this afternoon. So far I'm very happy with the primestar dish.
  21. I just got my system up and running at the end of the 1st period, with alot of help and e-mail communications from PSB. Its a satwork 3688 I got from PSB and an old primestar dish. Nothing fancy. I only live about 100 miles SW of GF but I am having quality in the low 70's. It is working excellent. Big Thank yous to PSB!!!!
