Well, as excruciating as it was to watch the Sioux fall apart against Sacramento St., they dug in and came away with a gutsy win against Northern Arizona. After a dubious start, they played some excellent basketball the final 30 minutes against the Lumberjacks, salvaged a road split, and have won 4 of their last 6 games. Weber St. is coming in reeling a bit, in the midst of a 4 game road trek, and having lost two straight. I think Weber is a far superior team, but if ever they were ripe for the picking, it is now. UND has played well at home of late. This can be a big statement game, and as we have all seen, it is very important to protect your home floor in this league.

The attendance for basketball has been quite disappointing...................... I thought affiliation with an established conference and a regular rotation of predominately Thursday-Saturday games would give attendance a healthy bump.

I'm really a bit surprised with how Weber performed this weekend. Assumed they would have no trouble with the Bobcats, and felt they had looked better than the the Griz to this point................

Well, this game became uber-important with the loss of a very winnable game against Sac St. Thursday night, and facing Weber St. next week. Obviously a win for UND in this game would be considered a major upset, given the ineptitude of this team on the road, but the opponent is by no means superior to North Dakota. According to the Big Sky website, the game is on TV on Fox College Sports, and Fox Sports AZ+, and as always available on Big Sky TV. Tipoff is at 3:00.

This group of juniors on the roster are now 7-33 all time on the road.

If there is no improvement in our run defense, SDSU could realistically roll up close to 500 yards on the ground against us. Here's to hoping that the coaching staff improves the 2013 defense like they did the 2012 offense.............

I'm pretty sure the rim is the same size around in Sacramento as it is in Grand Forks, and the floor is the same length, etc. Jones needs to corale this team, and the players need to pull their heads out of their butts. Both the players and the coaches are wasting what I consider to be exceptional talent on this roster. You can't play or coach college basketball without travel or injury. Suck it up and deal with it...................

We may not win another road game all year.

Boy, when this team loses a game, they don't just lose the game do they? They completely self destruct and embarasse themselves. I'm not saying they're getting obliterated, they just look like a JV team out there that is playing basketball for the first time. SDSU is the only game off the top of my head that they competed in and lost. The rest they just gave up.
