  1. Seems like Garrison Goodman needs to be the leader of this defense. He missed nearly half of the season, but it seems like he was the only guy with fire, even when he was it street clothes. I was very high on Dominique Bennett and Cordero Finley when they came in, but I feel that (if healthy) Goodman and Andrews are the heart of the defense..................... Agree that the talented and veteran recieving corps should benefit Mollberg.......................... I'm still not sure that I believe that Jake Miller can't be a featured RB in the Big Sky. He has performed well against some good competition over the last few years............. I would like to see more of Sparks though. He's short, but looks like he is built like a brick sh!thouse.......................
  2. Good God, what is the point of all this? My license plate could say "Snatch" if I wanted it to...............................
  3. A few questions/observations............................... Damon Andrews is a guy that I expected to hear alot from this season, but really did not. IIRC he had a real nice year in 2011. Obviously we need better play from all the linebackers. Given all the hoopla surrounding Joe Mollberg, what kind of season can we realistally expect from a freshman QB? The consensus here is that Jake Miller had a sub-par season. In fact he averaged 5.8 yds/carry which was 4th best in the Big Sky. Does Miller need more touches?
  4. I'm not much of hockey guy, but as a North Dakota fan and casual observer of college hockey, my opinion is that 10 years from now, the BTHC will be to the NCHC what the WCHA was to the CCHA.............. By that I mean superior.......................... The B1G will have storied programs like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Michigan St. plus schools with a huge fan base in Ohio St. and Penn St. The NCHC will have storied programs like North Dakota and Denver............................................... and that's about it. I understand the pecking order of college hockey, and I recognize that North Dakota is near the top. But a guy like me would rather head up to GF to take in a game against lowly Ohio St. than I would St. Cloud St...............................
  5. Hanson: No. Very good player, but I'd put him behind at least 3 QB's in just my time following UND, which doesn't even include greats like Colehour and Kovash................... Hardin: He is not done yet, so he's not eligible for my mountain right now. However, I've said before that I think he could be better than Dressler. And Dressler is the best player that I've personally seen play for the Sioux. My following goes back to circa 1992...............
  6. I contemplated Erroll Mann, as well as Steve Myhra, but both of those guys are more known for their contributions in the NFL. I want my mountain to recognize players that left a mark during their time at North Dakota. Not saying those guys did not, but I think there are guys who had better careers while at North Dakota.................
  7. West is basically the father of Fighting Sioux football. But I'm just more impressed with the resume's of Lennon and Olson. I am thinking that my mountain is going to have 2 coaches and 2 players.......................
  8. Lost feeling? That doesn't sound good. What exactly is her injury?
  9. Hey, everyone can play, I'm not only looking for help carving my mountain, but it is appreciated! I've decided that for my mountain, 2 guys that I MUST include are: Dale Lennon: Winningest all time coach, led us to the National Championship, installed the defense that changed the face of DII football, and was a former player as well. Jerry Olson: Presided over what I consider the era to be the high-water mark for North Dakota football. Won bowl games and challenged for the College Division National Championship at a time when we regularly played against current FBS and top FCS schools. I'm still pondering my other two...............
  10. Just having a little fun! I don't think FU owes North Dakota a game. In fact, I'd prefer to let the football game lie dead in the ditch. I just find it funny that the media is picking up on what I have been saying for years, which is that Taylor carries around in his front pocket a document with a long list of excuses of why the game won't work for him to reference any time the issue comes up. I've been saying it for years, the two teams won't play in football as long as Gene Taylor is employed by the Institute. That is fine by me. But like I said, for the greater good of the state, if Fargo still doesn't have 11 games come May or June, I'd be willing to let them come to Grand Forks so they have a full schedule....................
  11. I think it is in FU's best interest to play 11 games this season. C'mon up to Grand Forks!
  12. If you mean Gene Taylor's conduct, I tend to agree...............
  13. Got this idea from Egriz. Thought it would be a fun off-season topic............. After more deliberation, I'm gonna whittle the following list down to 4: Coaches: Dale Lennon Roger Thomas Jerry Olson Jack West Marv Helling Red Jarrett Players: Weston Dressler Phillip Moore Jim Kleinsasser Corey Colehour Jim Leclair Dave Osborn Digger Anderson Red Jarrett Am I overlooking anybody that should be considered?
  14. If the Institute is really in a bad bind to get an eleventh game, I wouldn't be opposed to helping them out and allowing them to come to the Alerus so that they have a full schedule. It would be for the greater good.
  15. Yeah, I thought they would have performed better, based on how they played against Idaho St. and Utah. Montana is the measuring stick for success in Big Sky women's basketball. I didn't care for how they basically ran us out of their gym.............
  16. geaux_sioux (or anybody else that knows alot about the underclassman): Give us ONE name at each position who will either be freshmen or sophomores in 2013 that you think could make an impact at that position. Keep it simple.......i.e. one LB, one DL, one OL etc............
  17. You're probably right, I don't really remember. It was somewhere in the northeast part of the state..........
  18. He plays for the Institute of butFootball............ Pretty key piece to their defense. From Langdon, ND if I recall............
  19. There is a ton of ball left to be played. Montana St. is also quite a surpise so far this year, as they were not expected to do much. I agree, that after Weber and Montana, it is wide open to see how the chips will fall. Idaho St also has a win over UNC. Next week will be very important for the Sioux.........
  20. A few too many to drink last night?
  21. Tie game midway thru the 2nd half.................
  22. Northern Colorado is leading the Griz by 12 right now, halfway through the 1st half. Game is on Altitude, DirecTV ch.681
