I'd prefer to play both schools in every sport except football. And if two hockey players go at each other after the whistle, the refs should just get out of the way.

I get that Ohio St. and Penn St. are zeros in college hockey. I'm just saying I think the name recognition of the Big 10 and the branding of its hockey playing members are going to help the identity of that league in the long run. Honestly, all the NCHC has going for it (to a casual fan like me) is North Dakota and Denver. Those are the only two schools that have any name recognition outside of the traditional WCHA footprint. I think it is very unfortunate that the NCHC could not snag Notre Dame, and as a result ended up with St. Cloud. I understand that most if not all of the members of the NCHC are committed to hockey, and it is the #1 sport on most NCHC campuses. It's also the #1 sport at Bemidji and Lake Superior. Doesn't mean they'd be quality additions...................

It was nowhere near as intense as the North Dakota/Minnesota hockey rivalry is.

There are 5 teams sitting at 3-4, including North Dakota and PSU, while Montana St. is at 3-3. Sac St. is at Weber, and I like the Wildcats big in that game, sending the Hornets to 3-5. Idaho St. hosts Northern Arizona. Bengals playing better of late. They should win and improve to 4-4. UM hosts MSU. Griz should handle them in Dahlberg, sending the Cats to 3-4. On Monday, SUU travels to Bozeman. The T-Birds have been on slide after a fast start. I figure they'll fall to the Bobcats on the road, leaving SUU at 3-5 and getting MSU back to 4-4. If UND takes care of business against PSU tomorrow at the Sioux Center like they should, we could find ourselves in a 3 way tie for 3rd place come Tuesday morning with Montana St. and Idaho St., and we already have wins against both of them. So stay focused, men. Work your butts off defensively and on the glass against the Vikings like you did against the Eagles and Bobcats, and good things will happen...................

I have no idea what Portland St.'s needs are, but if Riddle is the top rated QB in the state of Oregon, wouldn't they almost certainly offer him? On the other hand, if he is the top rated QB in Oregon, why hasn't PSU offered him ALREADY?

Just a few key stats that stick out to me after 7 conference games............ North Dakota is: 2nd in FT% Last in FG% 7th in 3 point FG% 3rd in defending 3 Pointers Last in assists 3rd in steals 1st in offensive rebounding 4th best in turnover margin 5th in attendance Individually: Huff is 2nd in scoring Anderson is 3rd in scoring Huff is 6th in rebounding Schuler is 3rd in FT% Anderson is 4th in FT% Webb is 1st in steals Huff is 2nd in steals Anderson is 4th in 3 Point FG% Seems like UND plays pretty solid defense, and takes care of the ball relatively speaking. Decent rebounding team, especially offensively. However, we've taken the 3rd most shots in the league and miss the most, so there are lots of rebounds to be had. The improvement in FT shooting has obviously been a huge key this year.

That road win we got at Idaho St. could end up being quite significant for determining the playoff field.............
