Something I feel like people are overlooking is the fact that UND is adding this to their lineup in 2013: 6'9" - Calcaterra 6'9" - Salmonson 6'8" - Nash 6'6" - Traylor (only played a couple games last year before Xmas) That is some serious depth up front that they can keep shuttling in and out.

Got to hand it to GT, he knows how and when to pick FBS teams. Uncanny.
-
USDs offense is downright offensive. Yuck.
-
That tells me you didn't know how about the programs abilities back then. To answer your trivia question, the answer is C. That knucklehead is unlike anyone else who has coached before, ever.
-
In 2000 that was far from failure and your 'lofty" standards were about the height of Gary Coleman back then.
-
If it is going to happen, Faison will have decided in his mind by November and I would assume have a "short-list" ready to go. They could easily have a coach by mid-December. That being said, lets just wait and see how it all plays out with the rest of the year.

You don't think NDSU has one of the more annoying, front-running fanbases in FCS? Have you been on other boards and read their thoughts?
-
No they didn't, how assinine is that. "Offers" these days are very subjective early on in the process. They tell kids in the spring that they are going to offer them come fall as long as tape checks out etc and kids take that as an offer. A dollar amount is rarely discussed, unless its a top player where a full ride is obvious. They probably throw out 40-45 legitimate offers by the time January comes around. They sign 22-25 kids a year so that is not ridiculous and is extremely common among most FCS teams. Western Illinois offered half our recruiting class last year once Nielsen got the job - and got none of them.
-
Look no further than the former DB coach as to why the upper classmen in the secondary are the weak links. He refused to go out and recruit Minneapolis, which was his territory, and then would always say he would go out and find some after signing day. Well, we saw how this has turned out. They didn't get a good safety for three years and the corners they got were bad players that were never signed by anyone else. Now we have partial schollie guys, former corners who were no good, a juco, and walk-ons.

Gee, you got me there. Don't know what I was thinking.

What part of what I said doesn't make sense? Focus on teams 4-13. Team #4 (NAU) beat UND by 7 points last year. UND beat Portland State, SUU and Sac State. Lost to UNC. UND was #8 preseason, which means they should be able to play with teams around them in rankings, as they sit now.
-
Man, I hope he doesn't say that again. I am down on the team/program like everyone else. I just don't like the blanket statements that they are going to lose to every team that is not a complete bottom feeder because it isn't true. History has shown that. I completely understand all negativity and I was about as negative as anybody on Saturday night. There are eight games left - Enjoy the Season (Mike Tice voice) and call for heads later.

Stay tuned Bro. After the Idaho blowout people couldn't see another win coming. Then, UND goes on the road to Fresno State and loses by 5. Same thing the previous year with Northern Illinois. Things change week to week, opponent to opponent. MSU is going to be a good game. EWU, probably not. This team is not winning 7 games. I know that but football changes week to week and if there is anything we have learned about UND its that they are very inconsistent. They could blow out a decent Big Sky team, then get killed by the same level team the next week.
-
They looked like crap. Absolutely zero running game vs. a bad Mesa team. This game is going to be closer than people think.
-
Has anybody offered Connor Wilkie yet?
-
Well, I got news for you: we aren't beating the big boys. So we might as well focus on trying to beat teams 4-13 in the Big Sky because 1-3 are too good. Then once they start beating the teams they should, that is when they can jump up and try to pick somebody off.
-
FYI, Bradley is a backup at D2 New Haven. That's how bad he truly is.
-
Everyone needs to remember there are much, much more "average" football teams coming up on the schedule. Idaho State, Sac State, UNC, Davis, Portland State. Those are all winnable games and we will not be blown out in any of them. It is quite obvious that UND is not ready for EWU and Montana. So that means UND is not a Top 10 team in the country - no sh*t. I 100% understand that getting blown out is not acceptable. Lets just wait and see a couple more games against average teams, plus the game against EWU and see if there is any improvement, whatsoever. If not, by all means they deserve all the criticism they are getting and action by the AD. There are still EIGHT games left in the season!

That idiot was dancing and joking his way into the locker room at halftime too. Down 33-10. Where are the Seniors to tell those dumbasses to shut the hell up and have some pride? Does anybody "own" the locker room? Back in the day there were always a few guys each year that were the leaders of the team and when they spoke, everyone listened.

Here is one of the things that irks me about Coach Mussman. After the games he never, ever tells it like it is. He will never come and say "we flat out got our butts kicked, they outcoached us, outplayed us, and it all starts with me...". Never once has he called a spade a spade. There is always a "but" thrown in there. Like last night (paraphrasing) - "Montana played great, its frustrating, but we kept shooting ourselves in the foot". No you didnt, you got your f-king ass kicked in every phase of the game. Even the best coaches in America come out and say when they got killed by another team. I think fans would back off a wee bit if he would just come out and do that one time. Say you got your ass kicked and the other staff out coached you. JUST ONCE. Send a message to your team that they DID NOT play a good game and they WERE NOT playing "toe-to-toe with them. Let your team know they sucked and need to get better through the media. It can be awfully effective.

That is the untalked about part of how "strong" defenses are in the MVFC. All the offenses are pretty similar and teams have molded their defenses accordingly. Look no further than their preseason all conference skill positions. Not saying anything about the other positions which are obviously very good. NDSU can play D vs. anyone. But the rest of them have proven that they are not that great once they play out of the conference. The playoffs show that very clearly.
-
A deeper playoff run by one team or the other doesn't prove that? A better record? I agree that if UND wins my statement will be completely false.
-
Yes they are every bit as tough as SDSU. That is my opinion and those close to the program. I believe it will be proven come late November.
