That is good to know, now the numbers are starting to add up. With a few HS kids and Jucos there are could more than originally thought.
-
For every walk-on they add there has to be a roster spot. There is usually only 5-6 of those because of that. They can't lose 15-20 players in a year (seniors and otherwise) and add 30-35, doesn't work. Unless there are more defections I would think it would be the usual 5 walk-ons or so.

I was stating that Wayne's assertion that their is 15 recruits on campus has to be erroneous. They would never have 15 kids in on the last weekend of the year when they already have 18-20 commits. Do the math. 15 for a weekend is alot. I have heard there might be 2-3 on campus, could be more. I am not knocking anything just clarifying!
-
They did not have 15 kids on campus. What a joke. They dont even have 15 in December. There was more like 2-3 on campus. Nice to hear how we recruited Norberg the right way and he respected our staff so much.

From the way it sounds he got some bad advice to wait til after the All Star game that was a week ago. By that time UND already had Riddle and ended up taking Palandech because Rogers wouldnt commit. Tough deal for the kid. Wish UND could have gotten him cause he is a nice player. He will be player for somebody. This is very similar to the situation down in Miami where they just let a local kid go a couple days ago because he would never commit. Then, after letting him go they caught hell. A school cannot wait til signing day...they have to fill the class.
-
Oh well, if the kid had other offers late and was thinking about them so be it. Closer to his home, maybe got more money, etc. Gray decided to make a decision that he felt was best for him. All you can say is good luck and wish him the best. I for one am not too devastated by this news. I know we hate to lose late verbals but Stendler was much more of blow than this.
-
He would have been a great option but grades are an issue. From what I heard, there are a few of those Minneapolis kids that have grade issues, which is why you are not hearing anything about them committing anywhere.
-
He better take NDSU's cause that is only one he has right now. Doesn't sound like he wants to go D2. Longer he waits the worse it will be for him.
-
There is so much misinformation out there concerning recruits and who offered them, it is almost unbelievable. Some of these kids put out bad information and it spreads and can never be verified because coaches cannot speak. Happens to all programs, every year. A prospective recruit won't hear from a school for months but will still tell media outlets that they offered him and were an option. Thurman is one of the few that spoke honestly about his situation, pointing out that FBS schools were no longer talking to him and clearly laying out who was still actively recruiting him. Wish UND could have gotten him, sounds like he has his head on straight.
-
Exactly. One of the spring "offers". I know for a fact they have not talked to that kid in a long time. Jameer Thurman, yes. Neitzke, no.
-
Cornerback does not seem to be an area of emphasis once I looked at the roster. They did not lose any corners from last year but add Konowalski to the mix. They have the three Brown's, Hall, Mackey, and Harris all back. That makes 7 corners back next year with only two of them being seniors. Next year will be a year to get 1-2 corners.
-
Money has alot to do with it. If UND offers less than NDSU they are not getting the kid, especially with the success NDSU is having now.
-
From a reliable source Stendler has de-committed from UND and committed to Northern Illinois. He was offered a full ride and obviously could not turn it down, especially from a team that just played in the Orange Bowl. Tough break for UND but shows some nice evaluation skills on Mannausau's part. The kid was rated lower than some of the other FCS def. lineman in WI but was the only one that got the late FBS offer.
-
Agreed. Heard that Northern Illinois is on him now. He visited them this weekend.
-
It tells me they were on the right guys when Missouri Valley and MAC teams are coming in hard.
-
In case you didnt notice UND took his teammate, also a safety, about a month ago. Cam Kuksa. And they got Cole Reyes. UND, along with a few other schools, dropped Tusler long ago. The only reason SDSU took him now is because they lost the ones they wanted. Pretty obvious they didnt want him a week ago.
-
Along with Miller and Gray. Plus, we got a number of guys in IL that I would speculate are being talked to also.
-
Yes. Most teams did which surprises me that UNI would take him. Although from what I am hearing they, along with other MVFC teams, are scouring the upper midwest pretty hard right now trying to get kids to flip, etc.
-
I keep hearing "how many WR's do we need....". Look at the roster - 3 of our top 4 WR's are seniors this coming year. Also, Oliver is no longer with the team. That leaves 6 WR's, only two of which have any production value (J. Jackson and Golladay). We need these high end freshman like Carr and Robertson to fill in the voids that our high-end seniors are leaving.
-
That is an awesome "get" for UND! This kid has some serious speed, nice job by the coaches.
-
The silence on SFI is deafening right now. Been waiting all weekend to hear something and by all accounts this past weekend was a big one. Not so much on UND's campus but for UND targets visiting elsewhere. Can't wait for some updates!
-
Pretty sure ESPN mixed the two schools up. He is a USD recruit.
-
You wait to see if anyone else is going to come in on them, since they are local. If they don't, you get them for cheaper. If they do, then you have to act. Its a wait-and-see game knowing you have a very good shot at getting them but only are going to spend as much as you need to.

Stockwell told them he wasn't interested sometime after attending their camp, where he got offered. Don't know why they would remove him from their offered list. It is widely known that they did.
