If you read previous posts you would understand there are maybe 2-3 FCS players a year in ND. SU is getting most of them so it looks like they have so many more. UND cannot just take the next 2-3 cause they are not good enough to make UND any better. They only have so many spots on a team.

For you to take it this far means it was obviously about UND. Mind telling us how many years ago this happened?

Give us some examples of what a member of a coaching staff would say or do to a high school coach? Honestly, I would love to hear stories about what not to do.

Because the coach doesn't like how they recruited a player, the college would put his future kids in a "bad situation? Don't think so. I have a feeling this one pertained to offers that never came and jerking around by a certain staff, maybe false promises about an upcoming offer. If so, that coach better get used to it or his blacklist of schools is going to get pretty long.

With how upset you are getting I will assume it was UND. Too bad they did something that bad to him, not good for the program. Question: Do a couple of the other coaches on that high school team have ties to UND? If so, I have a feeling I know who you are talking about. Obviously not in ND.

I understand what you are saying. Something must have happened. But, your example is two kids that had other offers anyway. How about the year he has a couple fringe guys and no offers are coming? Schools are going to ask who else offered and when they find out nobody, hello preferred walk-on! If said school that pissed him off is still involved, they create competition and possibly get his kid a partial offer. It only hurts the kids and parents when a coach shuts out schools. Let the kids decide.

UND offered Wentz a full and didnt get him. Wanted Thornton as a safety/lb but he wanted to be a QB. Look what he ended up playing. Like I said, they have offered most all D1 type of players but have only gotten couple. UND has ND kids, just not as many as they would like.

And instead of addressing it with the said coaches, he hurts his own players by eliminating two schools that could offer his players a free education and chance to play college football. Cool guy.

Its tough when UND doesn't get any of the best players from ND and MN. Iverson was a good get from last year. Minneapolis is recruited so heavily that UND's chances these days are not good. Stockwell was a great get last year but they need 4-5 of him a year from down there and that is not happening.

I got an idea, why don't you look at the population bases of the areas and compare them. Then, you would know why the offers are not the same. NDSU, SDSU, and USD do not offer significantly more kids from the local states than UND. They just get more of them so their hit ratio is higher and looks better. There are only so many kids to offer in ND and MN. Maybe 10 total per year and UND is not getting many of them. Do you want them to resort to the 11-20 kids that are complete wild cards? They have done that and it hasn't turned out well. Minneapolis is not as fertile as people think. They have up and down years like every other area. We would have gotten Opara last year but he had grade issues, along with his teammate.

Did you see what happened the next two weeks to UND? SDSU is a 20-25 ranked football team, at best.

SDSU is garbage, overrated. Their supposedly tough MVFC defense sucks.

Congrats on finally getting a game on FCS. UND has had 95% of their home games on FCS nationally for 6 years now.

Kuksa was suspended for the first game of year. Also. I know for a fact that they suspend guys every year for various things like missing class, alcohol, etc. They wont start looking past them now when the team sucks. Makes no sense. If redshirts get minors or whatever, how would we know if they were punished? They dont play.

For once I agree with BD. Shutup about SU and worry about UND for awhile. There are more than enough issues to worry/talk about.

Maybe to you but they were pretty important to rest of your fanbase when they were good and going to NCAA tournaments. Funny, now nobody cares and they are just those "unimportant non-revenue sports".

OOC and Playoffs. Go check out the scores when the MV defenses arent playing their own run-first offenses with terrible receivers. You will be surprised.

Would the Bison fans quit reading the MVFC press notes about how much defense they play? You guys keep spreading that "group-think" crap around and it isn't supported by any facts. The MV defenses are no better than any other top conference (minus NDSU). Look at the OOC scores and past playoff scores and you will see the results. Many MV teams got lit up bigtime in the first three weeks of OOC play. The difference is the offense's in the MV play run first, close to the vest type of style's which leads to lower scores. Therefore, the scores drop dramatically once conference play begins. Their defenses are good solid defenses but no better on average than any other conference's, like Big Sky or CAA.

I believe a fair amount of the players are mentally weak so yes, I think effort is part of the equation. Its just sad we got to this point where "effort" is even a part of a discussion.

What's your point? There isn't a person on this board that would disagree with you.

Defense. It was as good or better than the opposing team's offense most every game. They had a chance coming into most every game from 1993-2007. They recruited defense and won with it. Thought I would take a peek at the defensive stats thus far in 2013. Here are a few that are unbelievably alarming: 1. The UND secondary has TWO pass breakups all year. TWO. The opposing teams have attempted 93 passes and the terrible UND secondary has broke up two of them. Yet they jump around and talk sh*t all game to the opposing receivers. It blows my mind how clueless these guys are about their worth as a football player. They are the worst defensive backs in the conference, by far. Yet they girate and strut around all game but are never where they should be once the route is run. 2. The secondary has zero interceptions. 3. The defense has three sacks - all year. Zero by the defensive line.

I think so. Speaking of which, I read Caillou's feel good story about Beck the other day. What I took from it was after all that happened, he was suspended for the months of June and July and reinstated once the first day of fall camp began. They really lay down the law in Fargo. Ed "straight arrow" Genarro has nothing on Coach Bohl. He had probably been through enough at that point.

Thousands. Everyone is an NDSU fan/alumni right now. You would think they were the bigger college all these years with all the "die-hard" fans they have now. In a couple years I can't wait to talk to some of those people that I know are bandwagon riders and check in on their level of "bison pride".
