  1. Best of luck Sioux fans in winning the 24th in a row at home and continuing this years unbeaten streak and heading toward the NCAA's. Coming to New Jersey this week are the Midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy. Although I usually root for Air Force, Army, and Navy I won't be rooting for Navy this week. The game can be heard live on scarletknights.com and navysports.com at 3:30 eastern/2:30 central and will be shown on tape delay on Fox Sports New York at 11:30 at night. GO FIGHTING SIOUX!!! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!!!
  2. Are the two stations owned by the same company ?
  3. Since there is no ocean nearby, maybe the Fighting Sioux players could jump over that huge catfish or buffalo I saw in the North Dakota tourism guide?
  4. Our trainers have been developing some special training methods for RB Brian Leonard. Scroll down to picture by RUPatrick---My Webpage
  5. I'm pretty sure that a team can get an unsportsmanlike penalty before the game actually begins. The cutting the throat gesture is one of the reasons the "celebrating" in the endzone penalty was started. A few weeks ago, we beat Pittsburgh for the second time in about a thousand years and when we scored a touchdown Rutgers was penalized because three Rutgers players were jumping on top of each other. They weren't even looking at the Pitt DB.
  6. I don't know if the PAX channel is doing this everywhere or only here in New Jersey, but they have started sharing their channel with CSTV. Last night I was flipping through the stations late and they were showing Texas-El Paso vs. Marshall. I wish I had known about this for the New Hampshire vs North Dakota hockey game Friday. I don't know how often and when they share the channel, but I thought it be worth people keeping an eye on PAX when Sioux games are on CSTV since many people still don't have CSTV as a regular station. After the football game was over, it went back to PAX.
  7. As for the possible bowl locations, after the BCS games are decided the remaining bowls for the Big East are in Charlotte, Phoenix, and Jacksonville. No one knows how many Rutgers fans will go to a bowl game so I am kind of hoping that if we get into one it will be in Charlotte. It is a short flight and within driving distance.
  8. After going to Rutgers games for 29 years, I almost never say a game is a sure win. Here is the remaining schedule-- Navy at Home--Navy is usually small, but tough and they make very few penalties. The Midshipmen usually use an option offense which we have not seen this year. I think we will be up at half, but not by much and then pull away in the second half. South Florida at Home--USF is a Division 1-A program that has only been around for less than a decade. The Bulls have a great future ahead of them and I consider this game a toss-up if it is not a cold day and if their 21-day layoff doesn't bother them. If the long layoff leaves them rusty and if it is very cold, we may win by a couple touchdowns. Louisville on the Road--We have already won three road games this year and I think asking for a fourth is too much against a team that is pretty big and fast. Also, their crowd will be the loudest we have faced this season. I think the Cradinals will win by a couple touchdowns. Cincinnati at Home--The last time a bowl bid was on the line, we lost to the Bearcats the last game of the year. Many people thought that after Temple was asked to leave the Big East, that Cincinnati would become the permanent league doormat but they seem to be upgrading their program. Rutgers players, coaches, and fans are so hungry for a bowl game that I can't see us losing this one. After so many years of frustration with the RU football program, I still think the players need to approach each game as if a bowl bid depends on it because I don't think we will go to a bowl if we go 6-5. We need 7 wins.
  9. GOD Bless his family.
  10. Thanks for a very good sports weekend Rutgers and North Dakota.
  11. Come on Fighting Sioux----Go for my hat trick! Rutgers football win! North Dakota football win! North Dakota hockey win! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS! GO FIGHTING SIOUX!
  12. Final Score-- Rutgers 26 Connecticut 24 It wasn't easy, but it doesn't matter--best season since 1991. At 5-2, we need 1 or 2 more wins for our first bowl since 1978. Not a certainty, but.... Remaining Games-- Home-Navy, South Florida, and Cincinnati Away--Louisville GO SCARLET KNIGHTS! GO FIGHTING SIOUX!
  13. Still undefeated Fighting Sioux---what a great season!!! GO FIGHTING SIOUX! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!
  14. Thanks for the road win, Fighting Sioux!!!
  15. The crowd there seems very quiet--maybe it is not a sell-out.
  16. Sounds like great goaltending!
  17. When the World Hockey Association was formed in the early 70's, there was a team named the Miami Screaming Eagles. They never played a game in Miami due to arena problems and the franchise became the Philadelphia Blazers. From what I remember, the Minnesota Fighting Saints used to play in an arena that had clear boards. I have never seen any other arena with those.
  18. Great start! Don't forget, tomorrow's game will be shown on nhptv.org.
  19. Won't be able to catch the game on CSTV tonight, but looking forward to tomorrow's on nhptv.org.
  20. Although there aren't any in North Dakota, there is a national sports bar chain called Damon's. When you go there, just ask them to put on the channel(it is a good idea to know the number first) and they are happy to do it. Here is a list of where they are located----My Webpage
  21. EVERYONE born in the United States of America is a Native American. It doesn't matter if your ancestors were English, Irish, Mohawk,Lenape,German,Korean,Egyptian,Australian,Peruvian, etc. People should stop worrying about hyphens and just be thankful to GOD we are so blessed to live here.
  22. Congrats!!! Am I the only person that thinks Vancouver's logo and uniforms are terrible. I am probably showing my age, but I remember years ago they had uniforms that were (I think) white, medium blue and kelly green with a very simple logo that was a hockey rink with a hockey stick straight across the rink. And if you remember the California Golden Seals with their white skates......
  23. This Saturday Rutgers travels to East Hartford to play the Connecticut Huskies. Kick-off is at 3:00 eastern/ 2:00 central and will be televised on ESPN Gameplan, Madison Square Garden Network, and New England Sports Network. UConn has announced that now their first and second string QB's are out due to injuries and a true freshman who was supposed to be redshirted will start and a true freshman walk-on will be his back-up. If we win this one, RU fans who haven't been seen for years will be at the October 29 home game vs. Navy. GO FIGHTING SIOUX! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!
  24. Which Minnesota State University campus is trying to emphasize its' athletics more--Moorhead or Mankato?
  25. Hello Uncle, Thank you very much for taking these pictures. The Grand Forks newspaper doesn't have too many and for someone who has never been to the arena, I really appreciate you including shots of the fans.
