Looking for UND Hockey Cards (Parise)
JESUS,family, rutgers replied to TJordan522's topic in Men's Hockey
YaneA is terrific! Another VERY nice gesture. -
Are there many UND alumni in the Colorado Springs and Denver areas and do they come out to support the Sioux? Thanks.

Some days everything comes together--Go RU/Sioux!
JESUS,family, rutgers replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Football
Thanks guys! Don't give up hope with the Sioux this season. Years ago, the RU basketball team was having a so-so season and all of a sudden we won 12 straight and then won the Atlantic 10 tournament(before we went to the Big East) and went to the NCAA's. There hadn't been any injuries--it was just all of a sudden every player stepped up his game. Hang in there. GO FIGHTING SIOUX! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS! -
Hey Sioux fans, I have only been able to see a few games on TV this season so I was wondering what most of you think the problem is. Is it so many young players, conditioning, strength, not playing up to potential, coaching or is it a combination?

When a Fighting Sioux game is televised on FSSN, can most residents of North Dakota see the game?

Just got back from a great basketball game at Rutgers. We upset #22 Louisville in front of a national television audience on ESPN and a sell-out crowd. At halftime, the Rutgers football team was honored for going to the first bowl game in 27 years. In the crowd, were dozens of the best high school juniors in New Jersey. One was Matt Simms who was there with his father, former NFL QB Phil Simms. A perfect day! Now Fighting Sioux, top it off with a win against Saint Cloud. GO SCARLET KNIGHTS! GO FIGHTING SIOUX!

Guys, I just tuned in--who is in goal and are the Sioux dominating ? Thanks.

Hello deedub, From New Jersey, home of this fan of the Fighting Sioux and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, welcome. They are a real nice group of people.

I still don't know how we fit 8,000 into our arena, but somehow we do it. Years ago, RU hosted West Virginia and we sold standing room and has almost 9,000 but the town and fire department put an end to standing room tickets. For those interested, here is a picture of the Rutgers Athletic Center--My Webpage

Congratulations Fighting Sioux players and fans on the sweep against Minnesota State. Is Saint Cloud State on about the same level as MSU? Do most of you think the team has turned the corner now?

From the strange world of Division 1 sports---here comes the United Basketball Conference. The members of the league include the New Jersey Institute of Technology, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne, Texas-Pan American, and Utah Valley State. Each college will play a home and home series with each other. The travel bills and small crowds make this a nutty idea. NJIT is a small urban college with a small gym and few dorms. A few years ago, the state of New Jersey was considering closing the school and merging the campus into the Rutgers-Newark campus. I don't have any idea what the administration is thinking there unless they think they can improve the program when the New Jersey Devils open the new Newark Arena in a few years. Hard to imagine these schools can keep this alliance going over the long term. Here in New Jersey, we already have seven Division 1 schools--Rutgers, Seton Hall, Princeton, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Saint Peter's, and Rider. Only Rutgers and Seton Hall average over 5,000 for basketball.

Any former Sioux in the ECHL
JESUS,family, rutgers replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
Hey AZSioux, Thanks a lot--one of the teams, the Trenton Titans, plays about 30 minutes from me. By the way, I think the Rutgers football team brought your Arizona winter back with them. We are having the warmest winter in New Jersey in years. I can't ever remember being able to wear short sleeve shirts here in January. Take it easy. -
Do any of you know if there are any former Fighting Sioux playing in the East Coast Hockey League? Thanks. GO FIGHTING SIOUX! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!
