Have a great time Fighting Sioux fans everywhere! GO FIGHTING SIOUX! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS-- BEAT DARTMOUTH!!!!!! -
Not that we have ever set any records at Rutgers, but I was wondering why all of North Dakota's games are in the early afternoon. Why aren't any of the games played at night? Many people have part-time jobs for at least part of Saturdays. Also, does the University advertise games in newspapers in other cities? Do bus companies in other cities run trips to the games?

I am going to go out on a limb and say that I have the largest Fighting Sioux hockey jersey collection of anyone on this site

I was wondering if anyone has tapes or DVD's of last weekend's MSU games. I would be glad to pay for the cost of the video and postage. Thanks.

Guys, I don't know anybody who speaks that way except for ex-New Yorkers or as they say--New Yawkuz. That being said, Sioux Me Now, I KNOW where you live and so does my cousin TONY! Would love to get to Grand Forks, the Final Five, and the Frozen Four someday. -
Congratulations on the great wins Fighting Sioux!

Should Rich Glas Resign or be Fired?
JESUS,family, rutgers replied to Cratter's topic in Men's Basketball
Please feel free to contact Gary Waters. He will be available once we get knocked out of the NIT. After making $5000,000 a year the last five years, he was asked to resign and has been given a $1,000,000 going away gift. In the past five years, Rutgers did not make the NCAA's, had a 5-35 road record, and our coach did not establish any relationships with coaches at the top New Jersey high school teams. In college, you have to be able to recruit very good players and you have to have good relationshships with high school coaches. -
Good luck tonight and Sunday

Hey AZ, Since I have never been to a Sioux game and have only seen 1 home game on TV, are Sioux fans usually proactive for the team after a loss or are they more of "show me something and then we will cheer" group. By the way, does Arizona State have another top baseball team this year? -
Good luck Fighting Sioux players and fans tonight and Sunday. I wish I could see these games on TV, but hopefully some of North Dakota's NCAA games will be on. It is bad enough RU is in the NIT again( although our coach is resigning), but I really hope the Sioux don't miss the NCAA's. GO SCARLET KNIGHTS! GO FIGHTING SIOUX!

Old Fighting Sioux jerseys
JESUS,family, rutgers replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
I like the green ones with the block NORTH DAKOTA from the 90's. I'm not too wild over the black ones or the very shiny satin look. Thanks guys. Why doesn't the Siouxshop sell any of the older ones? I would think in a hockey state like North Dakota there would be plenty of interest. -
Are there any links that show the Sioux home and away jerseys down through the years? I have seen some photos of President Reagan holding a white one with North on the top and Dakota on the bottom with the Indian head in the middle. This jersey looks great, but the ones with the Sioux logo that looked just like some rows of various lengths with different colors didn't look too good.

Hey hockey10, After having been to a lot of campuses on the East Coast, including Princeton and Duke, I still think Army has the nicest. Michie Stadium in the Fall is a great place to watch a football game. I have seen the outside of the hockey arena, but haven't made it up there for a game. Do you get to a lot of Army sports events? I think the Pride moving to Rutgers is going to help with their crowds. When they played in northern New Jersey, they had competition from the Metrostars pro soccer team at The Meadowlands, minor league baseball teams in Newark,Montclair, and soon the new one who will play in the new baseball stadium at The Meadowlands, and the Mets and Yankees over in New York City. In central New Jersey during the Summer the only sports team is the Somerset Patriots baseball team. The new Athletic Director at Rutgers looks at pro sports teams, not as competition, but as a way to get more people to become familiar with RU and the stadiums and arenas. From what I understand, there has been some preliminary talk of a shared RU/minor league baseball team stadium. If the Pride really start to take off, they can always move right over to the main stadium. Their home opener is May 20 and here is their website----My Webpage

Hello hockey10, The New Jersey Pride used to play their games at Montclair State University's Yogi Berra Field, but they have moved to Rutgers. They will not be playing in the 42,000 seat Rutgers Stadium where the football team plays. The Pride will play at Yurcak Field where the RU guys and girls lacrosse and soccer teams play. It is just a couple minutes walk from the main stadium and seats about 5,000 plus they can sell standing room if needed. When you saw the NCAA National Championship, did you see it at the old or new Rutgers Stadium? The new one opened in the early 90's. What part of New Jersey do you live? I live in Manchester down at The Shore and started following the Sioux a couple years ago. A nice bunch of people. GO SCARLET KNIGHTS! GO FIGHTING SIOUX!

Lacrosse, either box or outdoor, is a great sport. Here in New Jersey, lacrosse and ice hockey are booming. Not sure which is growing faster, but many towns and high schools are adding teams. Both versions of lacrosse are fun to watch, but the outdoor game doesn't televise well because of the size of the field. The only thing I don't like about the indoor National Lacrosse League is that there are too many goals scored--kind of like the problem arena football has. Here at Rutgers, when the college season is over the New Jersey Pride of Major League Lacrosse(outdoor lacrosse) comes in and uses the lacrosse/soccer stadium. I would assume that if North Dakota adds lacrosse for guys they will have to add a sport for girls too under Title 9 rules.

Last night I went to the Trenton Titans(Philadelphia Flyers) vs Toledo Storm(Detroit Red Wings) ECHL game. They had a promotion with the American Heart Association to highlight heart disease, especially among women. The ice was painted a dark pink. You could barely see the lines or the logos on the ice. It made Boise State's blue football field look normal. I wouldn't want to see pink ice every night, but it was for a very good cause. GO FIGHTING SIOUX! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!My Webpage

Looking for UND Hockey Cards (Parise)
JESUS,family, rutgers replied to TJordan522's topic in Men's Hockey
You are welcome hockey Mom. Hope there is a sweep tonight. Not sure if I will be able to listen long--my dad has had a long day. -
For the life of me, I can't seem to get the link to work but there is a good article on Zach Parise about last night's win and the raising of Scott Stevens' jersey to the rafters of the Meadowlands Arena. Just go to www.nj.com and click on sports, then Devils. This is what I get for trying to use computers--I much prefer the papyrus I grew up with.

Looking for UND Hockey Cards (Parise)
JESUS,family, rutgers replied to TJordan522's topic in Men's Hockey
By the way, Sioux student and TJordan welcome! I am from New Jersey and started following the Sioux in 2004 and almost everyone on the board is helpful. North Dakota seems like a very friendly place from the cross-section of people on SiouxSports. GO FIGHTING SIOUX! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!
