PyeongChang, South Korea, won the bid for the 2018 Olympics on July 6, 2011, beating out Munich and Annecy, France. The opening ceremony is set for Feb. 9 and the closing ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 25.

Maybe you need to change your perspective, like I have. Twins are currently just barely out of "first place" struggling to "beat" Atlanta for the honor. I enjoy game updates way more since looking at this the "right" way.....

According to the Bison News Only (Fargo Forum) Carson Wentz woke up and ate breakfast today! Just keeping you in-forumed.....

2016 IIHF U 18 World Championships Open Thread
LuvHockey replied to MDtoGF's topic in Non-collegiate sports
I live in W. Fargo and made 4 trips up for games. Could not find anyone to go with me for most. Too busy with yard work, family issues, and just "busy". Scheels arena a few years ago was more buzzing, but they were so not ready to host yet...(esp parking) and had other issues. Last weekend was really disappointing in attendance,. This weekend was just poor, but not terrible. Many more Canucks in Fargo tho. Anyway, if I can drive up 4 times in a week, locals can go with less effort and did not. -

NORTH DAKOTA vs. BC - Dec. 3rd 2016. Madison Square Garden

Just walked away from MSG box office. Ticketmaster tix sale on April 18. BO tix not till April 19. Want to get em here to skip fees. -
Amen. We cannot fully understand just how much the Gift of the arena has meant. But how many recruits have noted "the facilities" as one of their top 3 reasons to choose UND? All? So I agree: Thank You Engelstads!

Dave B: Your article shows amazing data. I have followed Sioux since 1976- some weak years then, but still had Taylor-Smail-Patrick-Iwabuci et al. Now with tickets since new Ralph- finally got to see games again and since 2001. Lots of them. But you really stated what I have felt: we may not win a "natty" every year, but we see amazing players and teams every year. No program has shown that overall consistency. Thanks to the players for each year we have been privileged to watch. And double thanks to this years crew! Hope you all come back for another go.

The player who stood out most to me tonight was Stetcher. He was just plain awesome in his effort, and the unselfish play with hard work to get clear of traffic, then dish off a pass to a teammate for a better shot instead of trying to finish a "I can do it myself" effort. He did not hit the score sheet, as his dishes did not generate a goal, but what a beast of an effort to try to do so. And how can you not love the Gardner-Poganski-L. Johnson line.. Who will be able to match that physicality?? Wow. That 5th goal was frosting on the cake delivered by one hard working group. Can't wait for more heroics to come from this team.

Many years ago in Chicago Trib sports, Mike Royko (may he RIP) said of a trending playoff baseball team, that there was NO WAY they could win it all. They simply had too many ex-Cubs on the roster, and explained it in great detail. Well......do the Wild have too many ex-goofers? Just sayin.

UND Fighting Hawks vs. UNO Mavericks - SATURDAY Gameday
LuvHockey replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Agree totally. I'll bet Boeser grows on you..... -
The open records issue would limit some possible excellent candidates. They may have an issue of being identified as "job seeking" by current employer, so if not selected at UND they may lose favor for promotion where they now work. Open records are not always in the institutions best interest......

How about "You must be simple if you think this would be an easy process".

Told my son the video quality was so bad it was like watching the radio....

From the Ciskie Blog about this weekend up in Duloot: Couple public service announcements: 1. This is a busy, busy weekend at the DECC complex. There's the Bentleyville Christmas light display at Bayfront Park, the Nutcracker ballet shows at DECC Symphony Hall, and the Arrowhead Ice Fishing Show at the DECC. They will all draw huge crowds, on top of the 7,000 and change expected for the hockey games. Consider yourself warned. Go early, walk over to Canal Park and kill some time, and know you have a parking spot and fairly easy access to the arena to get in the game on time. 2. Saturday night, UMD is conducting its annual toy drive. If you're going to the game, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy or two to donate. Hopefully, we can set a record with a standing room only gathering anticipated. Sadly, no Teddy Bear Toss this year, but the toy drive should be huge. Would love it if you could bring something to donate. Cannot go myself, but this is for those who can...

Just a little bit concerned about this vote after issues today.... First, I was allowed a vote right away last time- first vote. This time I was --unexplained why-- left off the list to vote, until 2 days later.....when they noticed I was missed Really?? I am an alum, a donor, a season ticket holder, and a faculty member. 4 ways eligible How do you miss me? And can we rely on this system--one that can be that bad???

My Favorite Duluth restaurants are Blackwoods for dinner, Sarahs Kitchen for breakfast, Pizza Luce and Tavern on the Hill too. All of em: Mmmmmm. Not in walking distance but worth the drive. Well Pizza Luce could be walked.

If you drive off the Interstate system out there...be sure to allow lots of time. We were there last fall. The roads are all like Minnesota lakes country: 2 lanes, winding, hilly, minimal passing, and speed limits change every 5 miles, usually slow anyway. It takes a long time to get even short distances. It is beautiful though. If you think you've seen leaves in Minnesota or Wisconsin--think again. No comparison.....

I picked Tsunami. If there is an unstoppable wave from ND, you are indeed in trouble... and Roughnecks.
