Offense....Too many penalties. Defense.... Not enough blitzing. Bradley had some good flashes and is a vast improvement from last year. Both Sutton and Miller looked good. W Sioux have some work to do to clean up the mistakes. Next up Idaho. Go Sioux!!

UND FOOTBALL: Bradley in the spotlight I was hoping Garman would be redshirted, but am excited to see him play. I predicted 27-14 over on the attendance thread. I'll stick with it.
  3. The GFH weighs in...
  4. Grant Shaft's letter back to Carlson. Carlson is the one that wanted the meeting with the NCAA and now wants to disregard what was discussed and agreed upon. Hopefully the voters of Fargo will show him the door next election.

  6. I do understand that the SBoHE has to follow state law. My point, whether I am right of wrong, is that the legislature stepped over constitutional lines in making their law requiring UND be the Fighting Sioux. Will they now pass a law saying that the presidents of the institutions now report to them? What other laws can they make taking power away from the SBoHE? Al saw an avenue to grab power and he took it. The AG should have shut it down, the governor shouldn't have signed it, but we are now in this mess and now Al is mad because he got a pie in his face.
  7. If a judge (judicial branch of the government) violates the law does he get sent to the judge's timeout room or state pen?
  8. I don't agree that the SBoHE is a state agency. They are essentially an independent branch of the government. And I still contend that the legislature overstepped their bounds. From the ND constitution....
  9. I think hims got his feeling hurt.... Siouxman, actually, Al doesn't even want anyone "planning". Carlson: Pre-special session resumption of Sioux nickname transition 'slap in face' of N.D. Legislature
  10. Or we could follow the galactically stupid Al Carlson and have no conference for the majority of our sports, be black balled by other institutions, play Mayville on a regular basis, see falling attendance, falling enrollment, less in donations and generally abandon the idea of having an athletic department.
  11. I'm hoping to see some of this kind of performance from Mr. Bradley.... Go SIOUX!!
  12. Since 1, the law is unconstitutional, as the SBoHE has direct control over the colleges, not the legislature and 2, there is no penalty for violating this supposed state law, go ahead and spew all you want Al. The more you talk the more foolish you look.
  13. Until the new nickname is rolled out in a year or two.... NORTH DAKOTA. I have posted before that I would like the jersies to say "DAKOTA" on the front until the time that a new nickname is chosen.
  14. I watched the Saints/Raiders pre-season game last night and got my first look at Taiwan Jones from Eastern Washington. One of the commentators said that they had never seen anyone that fast. He wasn't lying. He had a great game running the ball against the Saints and is a fun kid to watch. The only negative I saw from him last night was pass protection. That Saints blitzed and Casillas ran right over and through him and sacked the Oakland QB. Jones had 81 yards on 13 carries.
  15. Over 10,000 with a Sioux win 27-14.
  16. Forgive me of this already been posted.... [url=http://plainsdaily.com/entry/ncaa-willing-to-reconsider-settlement-demands-for-refitting-ralph-engelstad-fighting-sioux-arena/]NCAA
  17. Did the Sioux find a diamond in the rough? Eielson's Pat Brown earns walk-on spot with Sioux Read more: Fairbanks Daily News-Miner - Eielson s Pat Brown earns walk on spot with Sioux
  18. From the article the number of freshman students are down 9 from last year. It appears the growth is due to the graduate students and an increase in retention of existing students.
  19. More students at NDSU and UND Nice to see growth in the graduate programs.
  20. You could be right, but the last "facilities future" included the retractable roof stadium. The links that the Herald had are no longer valid, so who knows what they are planning now.
  21. 'IT'S NOT A LOGO': Proud of creation, disappointed by its fate, 'Fighting Sioux' artist says symbolism always intended to 'bridge all the gaps'
  22. That image is from iconarchitects.com, which came after the jlgarchitects master plan. There was a blog post on grandforkslife.com where the architect said that the horseshoe wasn't going to be built. They were planning for the stadium with the retractable roof, but it was still a long ways out.
  23. I think I read August 29th is the announcement day.
  24. I am glad UND didn't wait. What went on behind closed doors in South Dakota may have left UND out in the cold. The MVFC was not even talking to either UND or USD until UND accepted the Big Sky invitation. There was likely some arm twisting to get the MVFC to accept one more Dakota school. I don't think they would have gone for two. UND has taken the path that I had hoped, the Big Sky. An added bonus is not having to listen to the bison fans about UND tagging along, riding coat tails, etc.
  25. I stirred that pot a little and you're right there is no way that Sioux will be in the name. When young Mr. Davidson from Spirit Lake passed away last week and his grandmother is a huge Fighting Sioux supporter, I was thinking that Spirit Lake Sioux would be a nice tribute to those who supported the Fighting Sioux name. I'm not so sure that Spirit may not be part of the new nickname.
