  1. Sounds like a pretty good design. Still, looking at the seating chart, the seating for the people that aren't down close to the court is not all that different from REA. Pick a section from the link and you get some perspective on their view. http://www.uwbadgers.com/facilities/kohl_c...ting/index.aspx We should use the facility which generates the most revenue and fan support. Which sounds like what they tried to do last year, playing the conference games in REA and non-conference in the Betty. I believe that many schools in the country would love to have this dilemma.
  2. I haven't seen a basketball game in the Betty, but from what I hear it is just a more intimate place for basketball. I did see two games last year in REA in one of the suites and had a great time. I really didn't feel that the view was that bad even though I was in one of the corners. How are the concession sales between basketball games in REA compared to the Betty? Being in a suite there is definitely more of an opportunity to spend money on food and drink. I've seen the image that was posted moving the court to the north end. Wouldn't that put the scoreboard over one of the baskets? Doesn't Wisconsin play all of their mens and womens basketball and hockey in the Kohl Center? I know that Wisconsin's basketball attendance is far greater than North Dakota's for the men, but I don't know how it is for the women. The greater attendance would obviously make it seem more of a homey place, as I have heard people complain about REA when it is a small crowd.
  3. 71-52 Sioux 5:48 Sorry gotta run. Looks as though the Sioux have game in hand.
  4. 66-46 under 10 minutes to go.
  5. Kimbrough makes two free throws. 55-37. A lot of fouling going on. Clock is not moving much.
  6. Augie making a run. Sioux up 53-37 with 13 minutes left.
  7. Sioux women cruising tonight, 52-30 with about 15 minutes left in the game against Augie.
  8. I found the 2005 attendance. 179,636 total with an average of 10,566. Pretty close to that of hockey. http://www.ncaa.org/stats/m_basketball/att...ball_attend.pdf
  9. Division I Task force holds first meeting . http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/13592132.htm
  10. Isn't lacrosse one of the two sports listed as "the national sport" for Canada? The other, of course, being hockey. That being said, I would think that there would be pool of talent just over the border.
  11. From a recent Times Picayune. New Orleans is looking at what worked in Grand Forks. http://www.nola.com/speced/ruinandrecovery/
  12. More discussion on the topic of conferences for NDSU, SDSU and UND. http://ncaasports.proboards10.com/index.cg...read=1132514406
  13. I could probably find the answer to this by digging, but I know that some people have the answer at hand. What is the deadline for a school to declare a change of classification, exploratory or otherwise?
  14. As much as I would hate to see the name go, how about the "Americans" and keep the logo? Wouldn't that not only be PC, but also allow us to keep the logo?
  15. It would be a pleasure to sign that one.
  16. Thankfully Pensacola was somewhat spared this time around. We were only without electricity for 24 hours at our house. Most of metro Pensacola has had power restored, which means that Gulf Power can head west and help get AL, MS and LA back up. We are currently housing relatives that have evacuated from New Orleans and the Northshore, so obviously we watch the news 24/7, including live streamding on wwltv.com. I got a call from parents in GF this morning asking what they can do to help. The number one thing is prayer at this point, because this will be a long period of recovery. We have family all over the New Orleans area that may have lost homes, jobs, businesses. BTW Star2City, we do have gas in Pensacola in most places, but I have been told that the stations are getting nervous about the supply line. Let me know if you need anything. jlarson@lpugh.com
  17. From todays Pensacola News Journal http://www.pensacolanewsjournal.com/apps/p.../508280335/1002 Look out for Katrina, Star2City.
  18. Nodaks and keep the logo, as it is the original nodaks. Use Sioux as the unofficial name, as Auburn does with War Eagles.
  19. We got electricity back on Thursday night. I left my wife in Louisiana after the evacuation and spent a few night here on just generator. Good to have the electricity back and great to have the family back.
  20. I have to agree that there are alot of people down here that have no idea where ND is. They also don't know the accent. When I first moved here, people would try to guess where I was from. Guesses like Australia, France, Belgium lead me to believe that they have no idea where ND is. After living here for so long, I guess I have lost the ND accent, as I don't get asked anymore.
  21. I think the results are being skewed somewhat by someone voting multiple times. I looked at the totals yesterday and again today and the results are completely different. For example, I don't think too many people really believe that the SDSU/NDSU football game is even close to the UND/Minn hockey game as far as rivalries.
