  1. I know about UND. What was the other one again?
  2. I'll add one more to the mix, Women's hockey. New program and no idea on attendance and $$. Hopefully the next couple of years the program will take off and be very successful.
  3. Speaking of deficits SDSU from 2005. Revenue $ 6,280,833 Expense $ 6,547,381 Looks red. Maybe SDSU should be in Division II.
  4. From aff on October 1, 2004 I think someone is a little nervous that SDSU will be forgotten about if/when UND announces the classification change to Division I.
  5. Where the heck is PCM on all of this. I'm looking for some "pseudo reporting" on the issue.
  6. Schools have been closed before in North Dakota. From a North Dakota history website.
  7. This is the part that I find perplexing. Forum Communications has been the voice of the Bison for how many years and now offer less than 55% of what they had been bidding. ?
  8. This may have been posted elsewhere and I just didn't see it. This is from the IAC's March meeting.
  9. I challenge you to show me where I said that you were irrational or incorrect. I said that you have a negative bent. No one is asking you to be a UND cheerleader. My observation was that you rip on posts that show some optimism in UND athletic programs. Are you saying that all of your opinions posted on this board are correct and others opinions are incorrect? I'm sure I'll get another caustic response to my opinion on this, but I don't believe that in five years UND will be in Division II. I don't think that UND alumni will allow for that to happen. Heck, for all I know Kupchella could announce the move in the next month. As far as getting "pissed" about it. Sorry, my priorities in life don't include getting upset about whether UND and NDSU play each other.
  10. I have been reading your posts for a couple of weeks now aff and you seem to have a negative bent on everything. All of your posts seem to just bomb on someone elses post. Offer something constructive. Since this is a UND board, tell me where YOU see UND in two years, five years...
  11. I've been hearing the same line for so long regarding the "conference in hand" that I started thinking that those were the official words of the UND admin. Sorry and thanks for the correction, Sicatoka.
  12. It is possible with what transpired on Tuesday, that Kupchella may have received some direction from Fullerton on making the decision. I know that the line from the administration has been "no move without a conference" for some time. The fact that Fullerton and the Mid-Con have both said in the past week that there will be no invitation without first declaring may give Kupchella all he needs to pull the trigger. Sure he will have to eat some crow and take some heat, but he can point to something and say this is why I can now do it, whereas he didn't have that from before. Previous data, such as the Carr Report, directed schools to not make the move without a conference.
  13. I think you "mis-posted" your last post. It was not misread.
  14. I was thinking banker also, Norman Skalicky, but I don't think that he owned an airline. So I'm thinking that our guesses are different.
  15. I think I'll change my guess and agree with you on this one. Somewhere between the lakes and the Cities. NS
  16. Chester Fritz Library. Don't know how much $$.
  17. My best guess would be Rydell. I know that he already gives very generously to UND. Although I've never met the man, I've heard that they don't come much better. Sic, would this take care of the cost part of the cost and conference question? The next month could be interesting.
  18. I thought that I would get some perspective what the folks at UNI thought of Jones from the UNI board, since that is where he went to school, instead it turns into a discussion on the Ralph. http://www.panthernation.com/showthread.php?t=4476
  19. I think that most of us remember the change from Dec 1 to Sept 1. At least that is what I remember. The June 1st date is new to me.
  20. I went to the NCAA website and was able to find where if you are changing from I-AA to I-A the deadline is June 1st (sse link below), but didn't see for Division II to I-AA was June 1st. I would look further, but I have to run to a meeting. http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/!ut/p/k...il/24_Att_A.htm
  21. One of the other reasons for culling out the ones that didn't make the finalist list is the philosophy of the University. I can see a major criteria being one of educator first, coach second and better to have a good clean program than to win and have a dirty program. I'm not saying that any of the coaches that didn't make the list are dirty coaches and I'm not saying that this one criteria wiped out all but the finalists, but it may have been a determining factor in some cases. I can see wanting to recruit student athletes and not just athletes and perhaps the selected group exemplified that. I'm also sticking to my original assessment that money may have been a determining factor for some of the candidiates. I don't know what happened at UNC recently, but according to the Montana State board, six players will not be back next year "for various reasons". http://www.bobcatnation.com/bobcatboard/viewtopic.php?t=6212
  22. Although I voted for UND/NDSU/SDSU with my heart, I almost believe that NDSU is going to the Big Sky and SDSU is going to the MidCon and UND is left out at this point, due to a lack of commitment by UND. If the leadership would come out and show some fervor over the possiblity of Division I, I might feel differently. Maybe behind the scenes they are doing and saying the right things.
  23. I agree, but you don't want to argue with a rabbit.
