UND seems to be in good company at the University Private Equity Summit. Students Gain Insights on Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital from Industry Professionals at University Private Equity Summit Pretty neat concept.

That blue line is moving through now. We went from temperatures yesterday of 75/62 to 50/36 for today.

Granted, I know very little of the state of hockey in Fargo, but what are they going to do with 40 luxury suites? The last time I remember seeing attendance figures for the Jets it was around 800.

Unless I'm mistaken, LSSU has won 3 more Division I national championships than NDSU. LSSU won in 1998, 1992 and 1994. Did I miss the one that NDSU won? Division I Men's Ice Hockey Records

Thanks Vegas. Loved it.

Since you haven't stopped, Dave, I will throw this in. Massey Ratings SEC is the number 1 conference. Big 10 is the number 4 conference

It appears that winter has finally arrived in GF. I'm waiting, not anxiously, for that cold blast to work it's way down to the Gulf Coast. GF is cuurently at -17, while Pensacola is 59 degrees. That is a 76 degree difference. GF high for today is -8, while Pensacola is 70. I'm going to enjoy this while I can, because as I said it is going to plunge down south. I had a meeting over in Kiln MS this week, at which one of the people had come in from Denver. All of the Southerners were talking about hold cold it must be in Denver. The guy from Denver chimed in that Denver doesn't compare to Grand Forks, ND. Of course at that point I told him that I was from GF and we had a long conversation about North Dakota. Turns out we were both involved in the same project 17 years ago at GFAFB. Keep warm.

Dave the season is over. Florida won. Give it a rest. BTW, it wouldn't suprise me to see Florida back there again next year. Good coach. Good Kids. SPEED. Did you know that Florida is now the Divison I champ in both basketball and football. It has never happened before.

I haven't lived in GF since 1993, so I'm not sure about the coverage the local media is providing. On the away games are they currently showing the game highlights that same night? With advances in broadcasting and video streaming that will become reality. Star2City knows more about the media packages available with the Big Sky, but I believe that the Altitude Network has teamed up with the Big Sky in a television package. I would hope that the Herald would be sending a reporter with the team on road trips and with the technologies available today, I can see no reason why they can't get the story in the paper for the next morning, at the very least in the online version.

Nor would UND be proposing to spend $10M on an American Indian Center.

The Herald has picked up the story with Buning's comments added. UND NICKNAME: Brand: NCAA won't back down

While your time zone point is a valid one, I don't think the Twin Cities/Mid-Con connection is as strong an argument. Other than NDSU and SDSU the Mid-Con is in Shreveport, Kansas City, Rochester Hills MI, Tulsa, Cedar City UT, Macomb IL, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne IN. None of these cities are particularly close to MSP. I would think that UND would be attempting to schedule both SDSU and NDSU on an annual basis regardless of which conference the Sioux end up in. With the Big Sky, you would have UM and MSU next door. UNC is close to Denver, Flagstaff is about a 2 hour drive from Phoenix and all of the grads in the Seattle and Portland areas. Back to the time zone issue. With the internet, I think people rely far less on the nightly newscast and the morning paper. If and when all of the games are streamed, you will have less of a time zone issue.

As discussed previously and pictorally with Wyobison's NDSU's alumni map, UND and NDSU have big pockets of fan support in AZ and CO, not to mention the Pacific NW. Plus one home for the "money" sports would be great. I think Swimming and Diving could become part of the Mid-Con or Horizon as an associate member. The big problem with the Big Sky insofar as a conference home for sports would be baseball and softball.

If it is true that he would then bring it up on membership vote, then he must feel that he has the vote to do it. Why else would he say "It's done."? I have absolutely no legal experience, so I'll have to rely on those who do to explain Brand's comments. Additionally, aren't these kind of comments fodder for the lawsuit?
