  1. Senators 2007 draft preview Looooking good.
  2. DI, I agree with you that the U's shouldn't go to the legislators for $$. My comments stem from you highlighting in red that this lacks the fireworks of Dunn/Chapman and saying that I'm being a hypocrite. You have to admit that hiring and attorney and requesting that Dunn excuse himself from the review is on a different plane. I think if you look through this thread, you'll find more people were questioning Chapman's behavior than they were commenting on the funding.
  3. Sorry, but I don't see where I'm being hypocritical. Saying the story is probably newsworthy, but lacks the fireworks of Dunn/Chapman, I think is dead-on. Chapman couldn't find the words to explain his behavior, so instead blamed Dunn for trying to get him fired and then hires an attorney. Kupchella responded in writing to Dunn's review of his performance, even agreeing that there needs to be more cooperation between the universities. Which one appears to have more fireworks?
  4. Statewide station coming to North Dakota This should get interesting.
  5. Dunn criticizes Kupchella Probably newsworthy, but lacks the fireworks and intrigue of the Dunn/Chapman saga or the Pott/Chapman saga. We'll see Thursday if all of the 10 presidents contracts are extended.
  6. Another possible player... A dose of both extremes
  7. Actually, I had these two in mind...
  8. Well, you and PCM look alike. I do remember that now that you mention it.
  9. I think you've used the quote before PCM... Bill Cosby Quotes
  10. Grand Forks Air Force Base May Get New Tankers
  11. I don't know how many other "groups" will be clamoring to get on the board, but I would think that the committee will be listening to alot of different groups and gathering information from them. I'm not sure exactly how the committee is organized. Will the members select a leader of the committe or is the new chancellor the head of the committee? I'm hoping that all voices are heard and a solid choice is made. My comments regarding having an American Indian on the committee, as I said previously, would be one of inclusion. When a choice is made and an American Indian is on the committee, it can be said that "the committee made the choice", whether the American Indian member of some other member for that matter, didn't vote for the new president.
  12. Panthers 2007 draft preview
  13. I would hope that a person with a "litmust test" would be outvoted, so that a person with their own agenda would not prevail. I can't imagine that any one candidate will be unanimous.
  14. Tornado add Mullins, Ludwig as coaches
  15. You're not going to report me, are you??
  16. Thankfully, tee-ball just ended this week for the year. My oldest was put on a team by the name of *cough, *cough, Wisconsin Badgers *cough. She could have been on the Maryland Terrapins, Florida State Seminoles or Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but no, she gets the stinkin' Badgers. Thankfully, she didn't want to get an individual picture with, so I will just have a team picture to try and forget.
  17. I see the slippery slope to which you are alluding, but obviously the American Indian at UND is in a different light than the rest of the groups you mention. (UND To Celebrate Achievements Of American Indian Graduates, Dedicate American Indian Center) If included on the committee that person would either be "buying" into the choice of the new president or at the very least "be included" in the decision making process. All that I'm saying is that with all that is going on in the "Sioux" name issue, at the very least showing the perception of inclusion is not a bad thing.
  18. Indian groups worry about lack of voice I can't say that I disagree with this. 420 students out of 13,000 is about 3%. One committee member would account for 6% of the total committee.
  19. I don't like the looks of this... B-Sens coaching search to begin by next week
  20. Sure, I subject myself to spending 4 hours traveling up and down Hwy 98 this afternoon and y'all are having fun. I mostly blame Diggler, as it appears he had the most fun. Well I blame Buning, too, of course.
  21. I'm actually planning a Sioux weekend for the first weekend in November. It will be my first time watching a hockey game at the new REA. Both men's and women's hockey is home that weekend, along with the football team. Still waiting for the BB schedules to come out. I can't wait!!!
  22. If things are as bad and as wide spread as you are saying, I would think that action is happening within the university, as someone else put it "behind closed doors". There are some pretty strong ties between the alumni association and the coaches and some pretty influential people. If the situation does not improve, I'm sure that the conflicts of which you speak will eventually be somewhat public and we will all have a great deal more information. Until that time, let's all support UND athletics.

Ledohowski feted for taking risks Congratulations Mr. Ledohowski.
  24. I'm on record in another thread as being in the Buning camp until I hear of some blatant problems within the Athletic Department. Post modified because I sounded like an idiot, which usually doesn't bother me, but for some reason this time it does.
