  1. If we were Portland State, we wouldn't have to worry about the size of the Betty.. College basketball. I would much rather have a problem with "where are we going to put the people" than "how can we get more people to come". Thankfully UND has some solutions for the former and the latter isn't a current concern.
  2. We sure don't need a short term AD or someone who doesn't fit. Weidner doesn't look to be the one for UND. Good research Star.
  3. Let's get the brooms out tomorrow night guys. GO Sioux!!!!
  4. Some have said that UND has floundered the last 6 months with a president on the way out, the Buning incident and subsequent lack of a full time AD. Maybe there is some truth to that. If the past 6 months have given you reason to be pessimistic as to what is going on at UND, the next six months should give you great optimism. By February 5th, we should know who the next president will be. That person will be charged with leading UND into the world of Division I. There are challenges ahead, including getting enrollment going in the right direction, generating additional research dollars, expansion of programs and growing the endowment funds for future success as an institution. That president will also be instrumental in the selection of the new Athletic Director. The new AD will have many challenges also, leading the school's athletic programs into Division I, creating a more positive relationship within the department and with the coaches/athletes, finding a conference for all of the sports, and of course fund raising. The next 6 months interesting, exciting and filled with opportunity and optimism. Go Sioux!!!!!
  5. Neither of these two seem like they would be a good fit for UND.
  6. I can't help but think of that Andy Griffith episode with Gomer Pyle yelling "Citizen's arrest, citizen's arrest". Sorry, it just popped in my head.
  7. Hopefully the Sioux will start shooting a little better in the second half. 29% is ugly.
  8. Try the SiouxSports.com wiki. I'm not wiki savvy, so I count on others to update.
  9. 2673 yards on 336 carries in one season. For you folks in Rio Linda, that is almost 8 yard per carry. Wow.
  10. Let's get off to a good NCC start. Good luck, guys. Go Sioux !!!!
  11. NDSU tops UND in first day spring enrollment
  12. I finally got a chance to listen to this podcast interview with Fullerton. Pretty good interview and the guys doing the interview were having a ball with it. It would be great if he could talk some of these presidents into a 10-12 team conference. Evidently there was an FCS conference that got 5 teams into the playoffs. One of the reasons was because they have a 14 team conference. Fullerton needs to keep talking to these presidents. If they were to add SUU, UND and USD I wonder what would happen insofar as exit fees for the Great West?
  13. Good news on the recruits and thanks for the link on the Wisconsin verbals.
  14. Nice pick up. Isn't there a Wisconsin prep site that lists all of the commits with the associated schools?
  15. No problem Hammer. I'm kind of partial to this one anyway.
  16. If the new stadium with the retractable roof is still part of the plan and your thought is to do it in 10-15 years, isn't the cost of construction for the new stadium going to go up during that time frame, probably 10-20%? What would you do with an 18,000 seat Alerus 10-15 years from now, when you move into the new stadium? I would think the current configuration could be utilized by the community much more than an 18,000 seat facility. From what I've read/heard, UND will be staying at the Alerus for the near term 7+ years. If a new stadium is being "planned", I would have to think that there is someone out there thinking that the possibility must be there for it to be built.
  17. The stadium is once again a topic over at Grand Forks Life. Grand Forks Guy talked to someone over at JLG who told him the horseshoe plan was part of an earlier concept drawing and was not being considered. The indoor stadium is more likely. As usual a Bison fan is the first person to post, with a negative comment.
  18. President search enters home stretch
  19. Or he was taken out of context.
  20. I thought we had to get both Spirit Lake and Standing Rock to approve.
  21. Game time is 8:00 on Thursday, January 10th.
