Putting the arrow on the "N" reminded me too much of the North Stars logo. I've been drawing/reading blue prints for 30 years and am more used to seeing the arrow thru the "N" like this...North Arrow

Slightly altered arrow. I didn't like that the line wasn't continuous between the "U" and the arrow.

I put some more thought into a possible new logo, bolder font and adding the north arrow from previous discussions.

I started a thread a while back titled "The Writing is on the Wall". I think it is even more true now. My desire at this point is for thee to be overwhelming support for the Fighting Sioux name at the upcoming Spirit Lake vote and then UND change the name. Then the change would be on UND's terms. The anti-nickname people at Spirit Lake, who would at that point be in the minority, would be left holding the bag after the vote. The kind of crap that has happened in the last week, has proven the Fighting Sioux name cannot survive. Imagine what kind of chicanery will happen prior to the Standing Rock vote. Win the Spirit Lake vote.... Change the name.

To clarify, the records I was talking about are football records.

Less than an hour to Ladd-Peebles for me. I think I could stand a road game against USA.

Ask the folks who had houses in the Lincoln Drive area if it was easy to give up their houses. There were folks on both sides of the river that wanted to rebuild but couldn't. They had to make way for a plan that would ultimately make the two cities safer. How about pouring everything you have into a business that never reopens? Easy, I don't think so.

One of my favorite radio shows in the Neal Boortz show, which you can listen to online here. Neal has in his program notes a Fargo vs. New Orleans comparison. Neal lives in Atlanta, but said if he had a choice of living in Fargo or New Orleans, he would pick Fargo. He likes the non-victim lifestyle of Fargo. Fargo vs New Orleans He has mentioned the comparison frequently this morning.

This post pretty much sums up my feelings. I followed the game via blackberry yesterday, as I was out most of the day. I was in total shock at what happened and very frustrated, but like you said we're only fans and nothing we feel even comes to close to how the team feels. I felt bad for the Princeton guys the night before, not that I wanted to Duluth to win or lose, I just felt bad for Princeton. It never entered my mind that UND would go through the same thing the next day. I will always be a fan of UND athletics, no matter what.
