  6. I think you showed a pretty good example in your post. America used to allow someone to speak their mind without a thinly veiled accusation of racism. JFR's post said nothing about the president. Since Siouxsports is supposed to be free of politics, I will leave it at that.

  8. You asked a question, "what was Taylor supposed to say?". I gave you an answer. During last Friday's Q&A, Faison said that games have been scheduled. Over the weekend we learn that in MBB the two teams are playing each other in 2010. So was Faison lying? Perhaps he could have said "tentatively scheduled to make you happy, but then the next question would have been "tentatively, what's holding it up?" Then Faison would have to say Taylor hasn't signed the contracts yet.
  9. This is somewhat troubling....
  10. "We have an agreement in principle, but we don't yet have signed contracts".
  11. Not really a story on the Sioux name, but mentioned inaccurately in this story..... Evidently the Wisconsin High Schools may be required to change their names.. PC run amok.
  12. Jacks tab UND for last 2010 opening So if scheduling the Sioux works well for a 5th home game, it's okay. What a load of manure. If the Fighting Sioux name stays, are we going to hear complaining from Brookings?
  13. FromQ&A chat with Dan Hammer Brian Faison: The buyout is $100,000.

  17. I disagree. The likely donor(s) for this project wouldn't be the ardent nickname supporters. Sure the athletes who put on a Sioux uniform wear it with pride, but football has always used the interlocking logo on the helmets and North Dakota on the front of the jersey. The Sioux name and logo aren't used, as they are in hockey. As such the football boosters aren't as vested in the name (IMO) as the hockey boosters. I would think that when UND requested approval of the project that they had potential donations in the pipeline. Kelley and Faison would have to know the position of the donors and the likely result of potential donations due to a name change.
  18. With hockey typically on FSSN on weekends, I wonder if UND/Forum Comm are futuristically looking at putting BB on statewide TV for big games?? This deal could turn out better than what the Sioux had.
  19. UND, Forum Communications galvanize relationship with radio broadcast agreement
  20. He was referring to the new recruits and athleticism they will bring. I just thought it was ironic that he used that word.
  21. Did Mussman just say the Cavalry is on the way?
  22. The origin. How often do you hear the term Nodaks referring to people from North Dakota? If UND should choose a name such as Nokotas, NOrth daKOTA, is there a chance that people would start referring to people from North Dakota as Nokotas? Just adding fuel to the fire.
  23. It wasn't my idea, but I will stand behind it.
  24. Yeah, like Hoosier, Sooner and Tar Heel.
  25. So I should mark you and Blackheart down as "no" on the Nokota idea then? Bleed the Green, Nokota is a horse. Nakota is a tribe. I'm starting to think that suggesting any idea at this volatile time is counter-productive, so I'll put any ideas to rest for a while.
