  1. I took a Geography of Manitoba class from Dr. Munski back in 1982. We had a field trip to Winnipeg and went to the Manitoba Museum and the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Stayed at Place Louis Riel and ate at Spaghetti Factory. We had a great time and I learned a lot about Manitoba. Dr. Munski was the best.
  2. I know what you mean, we were already in the concourse trying to beat the traffic rush when the crowd exploded over the illegal stick call. We turned around and went back to see the rest of the game, only to be disappointed one more time.
  3. A welcome and needed blog for Sioux football. Very informative.
  4. What are your most memorable moments regarding the Sioux? They don't all have to be victories. 5 of mine in no particular order 1982 National Championship in hockey. I watched the game at the Spud in East Grand Forks. Great time. I can still remember the Wisconsin player breaking his stick by hitting on the top of the net after the Sioux scored. 1987 National Championship in hockey. Since I didn't have ESPN in my apartment, I watched the game at McGuires Irish Pub in Pensacola. Most of the people in the place were watching the Indiana BB game, but there was a group from Michigan State I had fun watching the game with. 2001 National Championship in Football. It happened to be on the same day we were having a baby shower for our first child. I had a lot of relatives watching along with me on the wild ride of the last 5 minutes of the game. Wow, what a finish. 1993 Winning the NCC conference playoff in Sioux Falls. It was the only time I went and watched the Sioux play in the tournament. The Sioux beat the Bison in the championship and I helped throw Glas in the pool back at the hotel. 1983 loss to Wisconsin to end the Sioux season. Wisconsin scored what appeared to be the winning goal of the game in the second OT only to have it disallowed due to an illegal stick. With the Sioux on the PP, I thought for sure the Sioux were going to win. Wisconsin scored a shorty and went on to win the NC from there. The seat that I was in was right next to visitor's tunnel, right across from Bruce Tellman. I remember seeing Terry Kleisinger look up at the crowd yelling and swearing in his excitement. Someone threw a piece of ice and hit him in the head. He looked over and yelled at me. If you are reading this Terry, it wasn't me. ............ FYI, this is what Terry is doing now. I know there was another thread similar to this, but only for the decade. I'm old and have many more memories, both good and bad, than just the past 10 years.
  5. My vote is for 2. I've been in that situation and see that is where you are.
  6. You are only fueling my wife's argument that I spend waaaay to much time at this site.
  7. Keeping politics aside, it is quite noteworthy that UND will have Janet Napolitano, US Secretary of Homeland Security, give the commencement address this spring. With all of the work UND is doing with Unmaned Aerial Vehicles, it wise to bring in someone who may be instrumental in helping UND in that capacity. Additionally, I know that there is also a push by Conrad to have GFAFB as the home for two squadrons of the MC-12 surveillance aircraft. Maybe a collaborative effort going on here.
  8. There are lot of comments being written, from both sides of the issue, on the Bismarck Tribune website in referenced to a recent article. I haven't had a chance to read through them all, but it is interesting reading the different perspectives. Fighting Sioux nickname supporter says 'it's not over'
  9. Because paragraph 2.a. of the settlement with the NCAA says it is magical.
  10. Considering UND is not yet in a conference, I think the numbers are exceptional.

    Spring Game

From the press release it sounds like Murray is back in form. Murray/Sutton should make a nice 1-2 punch. Hopefully the Sioux have a passing game to match. Should be a fun season.
  12. Education Department Rescinds 2005 Title IX Change
  13. Poll results from Jamestown Sun... I'm buying stock in Orville Redenbacher. I'm not sure we have reached intermission yet.
  14. I think you showed a pretty good example in your post. America used to allow someone to speak their mind without a thinly veiled accusation of racism. JFR's post said nothing about the president. Since Siouxsports is supposed to be free of politics, I will leave it at that.

  16. You asked a question, "what was Taylor supposed to say?". I gave you an answer. During last Friday's Q&A, Faison said that games have been scheduled. Over the weekend we learn that in MBB the two teams are playing each other in 2010. So was Faison lying? Perhaps he could have said "tentatively scheduled to make you happy, but then the next question would have been "tentatively, what's holding it up?" Then Faison would have to say Taylor hasn't signed the contracts yet.
  17. This is somewhat troubling....
