So where was this team against Canada and Germany? 6-1 USA now. Sweden beat Germany. So the US needs to beat Sweden to make the medal round. Otherwise Germany does.

It should be the other way around then. Wins are expected and when they occur it's not really appreciated because they are supposed to go 40-0-0 every single year.

Problem is hockey isn't popular enough for anything to change. The system sucks, but nothing will be done about it. If the situations were reversed and it was Canada who was failing miserably, Hartsburg would already be on a Cargo Ship back to the Canada being used as a rudder. Hell look what happens when the Canadians get Silver. They are outraged. The USA needs to think a bit like this, Bronze is the bare minimum and not getting a medal is completely unacceptable.

I think the USA should consider the Canadian system of having a try-out camps. The bottom two teams from Pool A play the bottom two teams from Pool B for relegation, I believe. That'll be the USA/Slovakia in one pool and Switzerland/Belarus, two teams the US can't beat, in the other pool.

What an absolute joke. What the hell is wrong with the USA? It's happened three straight years now and they've gotten worse each year. Next year they'll probably be relegated, that is if it doesn't happen this year. They have the talent but never seem to use it. Yuck.
