I never said it was a mistake, but I also don't believe the only reason they brought him back was because he cleaned up. They also needed the help. I am just passing along what I have heard, the sarcastic post in return is not appreciated.

Rumor has it Frattin was brought back partly because coaching staff was desperate for some offense.....not 100% sure on truth to that, but sounds right.

He could start for us as a true freshman, the kid is that good. How the old staff never offered immediately is beyond me. I just hope it isn't to late, although it probably is.

Kevin Maurice per SFI tweet was Director of Player Personnel in 2012 and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator in 2013 for Purdue University of the Big Ten....sounds like a great hire, but why did he give up that to be RB coach and Recruiting coordinator at an FCS school? Either way, I am becoming impressed with Bubba's assistants.....dramatic improvement over previous years, nice to see people with legitimate experience.

Or maybe didn't like the direction of the program and decided to find something different. I can't say I blame him as his 2 years here weren't exactly with the best team environment. I will never blame someone for trying to better their situation.

Now we're are just whining about nothing...who the hell cares....

Maybe that is why he is struggling. He was at Umary prior to UND and then moved to an entirely new recruiting footprint. The same can also be said for most of th assistants, that is why I like the hires, they all have extensive recruiting experience and success in the area

Tackle Properly and not get our behinds kicked on both sides of the ball along the line. It would be great to see the o-line create some running lanes for our young quarterbacks. If we do that, I am thinking .500 is a start

Ya but Lennon appears to be on a hot seat. He could immediately make a name by turning around our defense, and have a bit more job security.

This all makes sense to me....there were 2 finalists and Faison personally requested Deboer to apply. As far as I know the same can't be said for Bubba(correct me if i'm wrong). That would make me believe that unless Deboer royally screwed up the interview that it was his to lose.

I would imagine he would recruit Ryan Grubb to be the OC. Coached ad SDSU in 05-06 and current OC at Sioux Falls. Lists his recruiting area as Wisconsin which could be good for us.

Any idea who he might bring in for his, are any of his coaches from Sioux Falls coaching at the D-II or FCS level?

I certainly did, I am a firm believer that a head coach is only as good as the assistants he brings in. I just think that with Bubba's connections and experience, the overall staff would be stronger with better recruiting . I also could just be talking silly because I am so sick of even thinking about this.......someones gotta have some inside info so my brain can move on to something else.

If there is one thing I learned as a football fan over 29 years it is this, you are only as good as your offensive and defensive lines. It certainly hurts losing a player like Kenny just because he is so dynamic, but we will never be a competitive team until we fix the lines. I was almost in awe last night of the holes NDSU's line was making, hell I could have rushed for 100 yards behind those guys. We fix those and we fix the team. I have faith the new staff will find the right Student-Athletes to turn this team around. These around 18-22 year old kids, and I will never chastise someone for trying to better their situation.

I go back and forth on this on almost a daily basis, I have come to the conclusion that Bubba is the better recruiter and Deboer IMO is the better coach. I will take the better recruiter in this case and hope he can bring in a strong supporting staff. This is just my gut talking....
