Every year that Minnesota has success it will, your biggest help in these prized recruits was Minnesota wetting themselves every year.

Ya it is nice that we are attempting to compete there thougj, unlike our previous Coach who used to just give up on some.

Hope is not lost but why hijack a recruiting thread when we aren't in a position to be comparing ourselves to these teams.

It still amazes me how some of you on here can throw stones from a glass house like this. Our program has been embarrassing the last two years...I will hold out comparing us to anyone until we stop embarrassing ourselves on the field.

It seems as if all of these recruits have high compete levels, that is refreshing to see.

From what I hear he may have the opportunity to get his red shirt pulled. He has been impressive so far from what I have heard. Wouldn't surprise me, he was my favorite recruit out of this class and that iincludes JUCO transfers.

Mantha is gone, NYR has a strong preference for the CHL for some odd reason. Oh well

Personally I had wished at the time the we had gotten Klieman and I still think he will be a successful head-coach. Bubba has really surprised me though, I don't know how good we will be next year but it is refreshing to see some enthusiasm back in the program again.

This was 5 months ago, but I heard he would play football if it was an FBS program and wasn't sure between that and hockey if it was a lower level. Things could have changed though so who knows.

I am not sure if it is a sure thing on football. I know during the season he was torn between football and hockey.

The quote I really loved was when it said that all he did was work.....A 3 star rivals prospect and a Senior FBS cornerback transfer is a great way to finish off this recruiting class. Two huge holes just got filled over the last 72 hours.

I am hoping he turns into a John Lynch style safety, just seeing some damn emotion again would be a nice change of pace. Looking forward to Bubba losing his mind on the sideline like the good ol' days!

They lift M-Tu-TH-Fr-Sun and have the game Saturday, so they work out 6 days a week if you include the game and take Wednesdays off. The point is you can do it 6 days a week when the program is planned out like this. Rest is needed, but with the amount of workout these guys do I have to believe that they know their own bodies well enough to the point of when they need a break. I just think it's an overreaction because of all the knowledge and science out their today, as players usually have a summer lifting program to follow.

Ture but the assumption that it is hard core training every day with the team just isn't the case. It is usually core work and cardio. The NCAA has strict training policies so it is hard to over train these days. I take BCAA supplements, a whey protein combo, and a creatine supplement and can recover quite quickly. We should be more worried about on the field things instead of training IMHO, these guys know their bodies very well by now

Somehow I feel like people saying this stuff don't workout. It is possible to lift twice a day 6-7 days a week with the proper program. Are we really whining so much that we are complaining about people going above and beyond.....

Honestly, we were recruiting the right kids, but if you don't teach them the fundamentals it doesn't matter. I think that teaching these kids the simple parts of the game have allowed them to grow as players because they can trust their instincts more instead of always worrying about something. Teaching them proper footwork and tackling techniques goes a long way for a player like Reyes who is already quick and can hit hard.

To me Reyes is the guy I am most excited to see, he is a guy that could be a face of this team for the next few years. It is nice to hear rumblings around that the younger players are stepping up into somewhat of a leadership role in certain areas as that is huge in my opinion. I am taking offense for a grain of salt right now because it is all new termanology and they probably have a couple starting OL transferring in for fall semester but that Safety position in paticular I am hearing consistently good things about. That is so damn refreshing to me. I am starting to see some of the punch you in the mouth defense we have been missing and that is what I am mostly taking out of this spring. The fact the Bubba has gotten the buy in from a lot of the players makes this a successful spring regardless of the outcome.

I lift 6 days a week and I know some guys who go twice a day every day. The reason you have to do it on your own time is because of off days. These guys have lifted for years and are told a training program as well. They can do this unsupervised for some of the time with the experience they have. A coach is providing guidance not showing them how to do it. That was my point.

This isn't true at all...in fact it is down right humerous. An athlete going above and beyond has nothing to do with not lifting enough as a team. I expect athletes to be doing this on their own on top of the team side.

Like Jones or not, he has increased that quality of the program since he has been here. The last couple years of the Glas era killed the program.

In my opinion he is on notice this year...IMHO the only reason he hasn't been fired is because they had to buy out Mussmans' contract and had to find money for that plus an increased salary for Bubba. They aren't going to buy out Jones contract in the same year as Mussman. We aren't on a budget to buy out two of the biggest sports coaches in the same offseason. If he fails this next year I truly believe he will be gone.

This team seems to come out of hiding come tournament time, 1 more win baby!!

Seems like a playmaking Safety. The thing I love about a lot of these recruits is that they all seem like pretty sound tacklers.
