I could support this....I just think my deboer has a special quality to him.

Yet people continue to complain about things like it's Brians fault. I have been a part of the hiring process for over 5 years for a worldwide fortune 500 company and it is similar to this. There are things you can do to get through certain loopholes but you must abide by the process. Trust me when I say Brian is just as frustrated as we are right now.

I don't get why the wait is a big deal anymore, we can't recruit for a month now anyway so it really doesn't matter. Everyone just needs to take a minute and relax.

Played and coached at Nebraska-Omaha and also coached at Northern Iowa.....oddly enough, he also coached at NMSU when Faison was there. Brian actually hired him. Who knows, it could just be wishful thinking too

He just seems far to smart to have it be any other way....I would think by the time we find out who it is he was waiting for to apply, that he already interviewed and offered the position. I just gotta think he is trying to help someone get around the open records laws.

Who do they really have their eye on then....because it just seems odd to me to wait all this time and then hire someone they could have a week ago. I have a feeling that he is still trying to talk someone into it. Any read on who that could be?

Would Bubba have the option to bring in Deboer as OC, or would the assistant coaches salary not be competitive enough?

Ya, that would be ridiculous, especially after all this time.

I think the fact that we are even having to ask will probably be a big enough reason for him not to get the job. I am not really sure why he is the popular candidate with everyone here, especially considering the baggage he comes with. I would think that after the recent Hardee incident, he will be looking for a clean start. I am still hopeful that the person that is being hired has yet to apply.

I saw all I needed to know when he completely out coached Muss a few years back....

It's a publicly funded University, they have to have a basic system in place.

It's an basic tool to eliminate people who have no business applying. Generally speaking the candidates the AD have in mind always are more than qualified anyway, so this really doesn't effect things one way or the other. Really isn't even worth discussing.

Exactly, and the other thing that really bothers me was how early he applied. How often does a head coach in any search apply a good week before the end date.....it just doesn't happen.

Also played at Nebraska-Omaha from 84-87......if there was a dark horse if ever this guy is the one. Way to many connections to the area and AD, and has also had a lot of success.
