  1. Sounds like if we offered a full ride he would have committed, nice to hear these consistent good words from so many recruits.
  2. One of the best rookies this year in the NHL and playing a top 6 center role for the Tampa Bay Lightning was undrafted and signed as an overager out of the CHL and he is Tyler Johnson. Draft status has nothing to do with NHL success....
  3. That is what scares me lol
  4. I think you missed the point entirely....this is the recruiting thread though, take the pissing match somewhere else.
  5. So who do we have for committed DB's so far? I was hoping to hear form some JC transfers by now otherwise next fall could be rough. We really really need Carter to commit.....I could see him starting in the fall as a true freshmen.
  6. I am already amazed at the amount of positive energy that Bubba has brought in within the 1st month on the job.....I am actually excited for football to be here again!!!
  7. Out of all the recruits he will have the biggest impact immediately, hopefully he enjoyed his time in Grand Forks.
  8. You sometimes don't realize how much passion a program is missing until you get someone who bleeds Sioux Green like Bubba.

  10. I am almost wondering if they would recruit him as a DB, I have no clue but it does seem to be an option
  11. At a minimum UND Hockey has over 50% of its team drafted every single year. It is one of the most respected programs in all the country and is continuously praised by professional hockey minds year in and year out. The CHL is a larger league (QMJHL, WHL, OHL), so it isn't surprising that the numbers support more NHL players coming from that league, hockey is also Canada's top sport so is it really a suprise that they produce the most NHL players. We don't have to stroke our hockey ego because experts worldwide already do it for us. I am not sure what point you have been trying to prove but you are clearly failing at it....
  12. First thing that jumped out to me was his open field tackling, quite refreshing to see someone so sound at it. He seems to have pretty good hips and closing speed as well. This could be someone who could play right away depending on how camp goes if he does come in. Hopefully he enjoys Grand Forks.
  13. He may be the highest rated player we have ever recruited. I really like the area this staff is recruiting too, haven't read much about California or anything. It seems they are focusing on the upper midwest and seeing a decent amount of success early on. Bubba is calming my nerves more and more everyday.
  14. I was just reading the interview for the Miami Dolphins new offensive coordinator and he was asked what he learned from all of the head coaches he has worked with. He said the one common theme they had is that every move they made every day was moving the team closer to the vision they had. There was never a move made that wasn't done to help get closer to the goal, that is the big problem and while too early to tell, it is refreshing to hear a coach specifically state what he wants to do.
  15. Now that would be a change of pace to see....I am by no means an expert, but when I have a budlight on my couch and can call the plays UND would do with some accuracy I knew there was a problem. I shouldn't be able to do that lol
  16. NDSU was so damn good because there running game could open up the passing game, while keeping the defense off the field. I love focusing more on ball control, our defense got gashed to many times because of the number of short drives we have had the last couple of years. We didn't have the depth to keep the defense fresh for 4 quarters. An offense is only as good as the running game they have, this is great news for us.
  17. He was Jay Grudens' tight ends coach back in 2009 in the UFL. Actually had a coaching assistants job at age 23 with the buccaneers. Certain people just command respect regardless of age, insinuating he won't be successful due to his age is really quite narrow-minded. He has been one of the better TE coaches in the league the last couple years here, guy just lucked out and had a head coach come in that he had already coached with. Must have left quite the impression.....
  18. I really do like the hire after reading up on him, improved Luther college from 112 yds/game in 2008 to 183 yds/game in 2010. He was a lineman and one of the best running programs in the country and got some of the best coaching. I don't care about experience, to get a guy with his playing experience is a huge get. Love Love Love it!!!
  19. I have heard that part of the contract is unenforceable as it should be. It's just false hope...
  20. It is a practiced method, but there would be those here throwing stones if NDSU was doing it to us. I have never had a problem with it. Everyone is fair game until they sign on the dotted line
  21. As do I...usually means the hands and feet are quick. Something that doesn't apply to many of our linemen currently.
  22. While I don't like it, I won't ridicule this young man. I will never talk down to someone who is trying to improve his/her situation. While I don't like that he left let's remember that he committed at age 16 I believe. It is perfectly normal for a young adult to change there mind. He will be replaced and we will move on just fine. The program is always bigger than any one individual. Fight on Sioux! !
  23. He is young but I believe he did play DB at SIU under schweigert. D1 playing experience at the position he is coaching is huge for me personally.
  24. Above all else this is what I am looking forward to seeing. The drops the wide receivers had the last couple years drove me up the wall and were usually drive killers. I am willing to give away some explosiveness for a couple receivers who can consistently catch the ball.
  25. I would be surprised. I didn't see enough progression from our 2 freshman qbs to warrant retaining him.
