  1. There is no way you can say that....the class 5 years ago won 3 championships. I can't wait until UND is competitive so Bis on fans like this go away...."to many tv appearances to count"...give me a break
  2. The National tit'll itself is way more of a draw than tv exposure IMHO. Once we started getting to the playoffs it will be less of an advantage
  3. Thanks for the clarification, makes me wonder why we haven't been able to find better CB's then. Also Kuksa was a true freshman, such a sad loss.
  4. Yet two of our most impressive young players in the last few years were both playing safety, still wonder how it could be if Cam could have played this year. I understand your point on coverages, but Tillman is a poor example as he was playing a good amount at an established FBS program and was a 5th year senior. We have had terrible CB play for years and this year was average at best. Linebackers can call out coverage just as well as safeties could if needed to.
  5. I would argue the exact opposite, especially at the FCS level.
  6. I have been digging around and haven't found anything. I have to imagine they are looking at getting a RB and WR if possible. We really need immediate help at the skill positions.
  7. I honestly don't know what guys do that lift 3 hours a day 6 days a week. I have been going for 10 months now and increased my flat bench from 135 to 235, that is going to the gym 5 days a week for right around an hour each time. I have no coach or nutritionist and no one watching my form. You don't gain strength during the workout as that just tears up your muscles. You gain strength during your recovery period which is why it is so important to not overdue it. I truly hope the entire team decides to stay the summer and all continue to work out, I have seen some athletes working out on their own in the summer and I guarantee you that some of them half as it when away from school. This is when championships are made and it needs to be taken seriously.
  8. On a side note, I really hope we find at least 1 talented QB in this class. With Molberg hurt, Studsrud completing passes at an alarming small % and Bartels not showing much, I am more than slightly concerned. A transfer would be a nice dream of mine.
  9. by feeding into you're further ruining the point of this thread, just ignore and move on with your day. It ain't that hard.
  10. Look in the mirror a bit with posts like the one you just put out. He isn't harming anyone......
  11. I am guessing safety or OLB
  12. None of us know, including you. That's why we speculate on a message board. I enjoy his predictions, whether accurate or not it gives us something to talk about
  13. If the season is still going on you wouldnt. That isn't done until after...it would lead me to believe it is a couple players buried on the depth chart at a big school that want more playing time. I will believe him on this one
  14. I am guessing a WR and RB....I have to think there would be some drop downs drooling to get the workload Jar got
  15. 1) A QB that can give us a consistent passing game. I don't care how good our defense and running game is, but it will not lead us to success until we at least have the threat to throw the ball. You can't do that with the QB play we had this year. Someone better step up as this concerns me deeply next year. I don't currently see an answer on our roster. A Braden Hansen type transfer would be wonderful! 2) A lockdown corner. I can't stress how important Alex Tillman was to our secondary and return game. He will be greatly missed and we need someone to step in. I have faith that Carter can be the man, but we need more depth at this position. 3) A running back to step up. It really is a bummer that we finally saw what type of player Garman could be in the last 5 games of his senior year. He will really be missed and I didn't see enough of Simmons to know. I am expecting a good transfer to come in here as someone will have an opportunity to carry the rock a lot. 4) Upgrade at the WR. I appreciate that you only want players on your team that want to be here and that was evident with our compete level this year. We lost a lot of talent though at this position and it was clearly evident. We need someone to step up and be a threat to seperate. Whether it be from speed or route running doesn't matter, but we need as much help as possible. I am expect another true freshman to have a shirt pulled by next fall. It really is interesting how this season played out. Going into it I thought that our skill positions were our strength and our line on both sides were going to be a problem. Due to attrition it turned out to be the exact opposite for us, it has been a long time since I have seen a UND defense create that type of pressure and the offensive line grew leaps and bounds throughout the year. Bubba is everything we could have possibly hoped for. He is building this from the ground up and in much quicker form than we thought possible. We have a strong foundation going into year 2 and it appears there is some life in the program now.
  16. A couple things I noticed 1) He plays to the whistle and has a nasty side to him that is missing from a lot of the current hogs. 2) He is affective in run-blocking as was especially effective when asked to pull He has some work to do in his pass protection as it certainly wasn't nearly as impressive as his run blocking was, and he could also benefit from another 15-20 lbs on his frame. I could honestly see him as a center or guard in our system. It is refreshing to see an offensive line commit with speed and technique that needs more size. I always hated how Mussman would recruit guys that already had the size but couldnn't move. You can add size with proper development, speed isn't nearly as easy.
  17. Ya and maybe North Carlina has another Braden Hansen for us...
  18. I have been on the Chris Carter bandwagon since the day he committed....we may have our answer in house. I just know that Tillman is a huge weapon on punt returns and you just cant replace that.
  19. Who the heck is going to replace Tillman next year, that kid is the heart and soul of our defense and is fantastic as a return man. Hopefully someone is ready to step up.
  20. This was a perfect day for a large group of potential recruits to visit...a big win vs a top 25 program should hopefully lead to a few verbals
  21. Bring in Mark Gibson as OC. At least we know he could run the football!
  22. Lloyd Christmas: Hit me with it! Just give it to me straight! I came a long way just to see you, Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances? Mary Swanson: Not good. Lloyd Christmas: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred? Mary Swanson: I'd say more like one out of a million. [pause] Lloyd Christmas: So you're telling me there's a chance... YEAH!
  23. That's true, but it sends the wrong message entirely to throw someone in there just to preserve a year of the future. We are playing true freshman everywhere on the field....I am actually to see excited how the kid does. There is no better on the job training for a athletic QB than going against a high powered offense that has a sloppy defense. He should have the ability to make some plays in this game.
