Utah FIGHTING HAWKS
-
It feels like we have more offers out this year than we did at the same time in years past. Am I wrong? What's the percent of offers that typically gets accepted? 35%?
-
But when UND was going after guys with NO other offers, it was because the coaches saw something no one else did.
-
I may have misread it. I thought he had a pile of something. Coke?
-
You really don't think the ability to get it legally in Colorado has no impact on how/why Poole had so much in ND? He could bring it here from home. Not saying it was right, just saying it's relevant.
-
I was replying to your position that medical marijuana had NO relevance to the legalization of marijuana.
-
Actually the precursor to most states legalizing it was the legalization of medical marijuana first.
-
And ND has passed a law for medical marijuana, too.
-
Me too. The best I could come up with was Strong Fafety.
-
I've seen the organizers of our group do the same. Twenty somethings drinking a few beers go for the food like a coyote to wounded rabbit. (Not Bugs Bunny)

Yes, I know he still has the family, but maybe now baby and mom are more comfortable and maybe they are coming to GF and maybe he's more aware of his role as a father, but this is different NOW than when you get the news you're going to be a dad and all that goes with it. He must have been, as any guy in that position, stunned and worried about his and baby's future. Now it's at least a bit more settled.
-
That last sentence is the key. I think he deserves respect not suspicion as to why he dropped football for family.
-
He quit because he became a teenage daddy. I don't expect those circumstances to exist again!
-
That makes sense. But before the "certain team" was added to the comments, there was some disgust with EWU and SDSU for talking to him.
-
I have no issue with other teams going after him. He was NOT UND property and whenever a new coach comes in and players talk about leaving this board is all about checking those guys out.
-
Lots of new offers reported on Twitter. Most from Junior Day. Some more recent.
-
Crazy good news. Johannesson behind the Train? Look out. Oh and I loved Stockwell's grit last year-threw up on the field at least twice but kept playing, hurt often, but kept playing. Don't say he regressed last year-he gutted it out with a shoulder injury and others.
-
Agreed. This could happen here at any time especially as the team becomes more competitive and playing time is difficult to keep/get.
-
Practicing against Johanesson should help!
-
But Studs missed wide open guys on 3rd down in the 3rd and 4th and receivers missed catches. It was execution as much as play calling that cost that one. Oh and the D could NOT make a stop.

I agree with Brad's "biases" if that's the correct way to frame them in that the viability of some sports programs to some respect depended on the deletion of three. Yes Isolationism is a ND (Professor Robinson's thesis) theme, but I'm not sure the context you are using it in this topic. We are isolating ourselves from other women's hockey programs?
-
If Brad's "agenda" was to realize that a cut of the WH program would be a benefit to the FB, WBB and MBB programs and even the WVB program, then I'm on board with his "biases".
-
I agree...and if the ONLY cuts coming to our state were college sports, your point is well taken, but all educational institutions will have some cuts as well as counties and frankly all departments. I'm not saying government doesn't get bloated and does not need cuts, but it just seems odd to be in this situation in ND with that much money in reserves and... Oil is already coming back and when it does we will be flush again.
-
"How dare they cut a sport I never supported" seems to be the real story today. It's pure math as Sicatoka rightly points out. However, the state of ND has not 1 but 2 reserve funds with each holding about 4 billion dollars. But those are for a "rainy day." Apparently it's not raining hard enough yet.
