Surprised that Rowney was taken off the MacMillan-Gaarder line. I thought for sure that unit would stay together. I that top line will be tough as ever with Rowney too. Puck dropped....lets roll.

Nice thing about having depth is you can put Rocco on the third line, and if need be put him on the top unit late if its a two line hockey game in the third or OT. I'm all about spreading the wealth line wise. But when push comes to shove the coaching staff will make the right move. Rocco is a good enough player to click with anyone he plays with. I think we'll see him play with all sorts of guys this year.

One was an exhibition. They could have lost 200-0, and maybe then the poll would have been different. Exhibition games aren't taken into consideration. Aka.....they played one game (that counted).

Exactly. The way the defense is stopping teams it would take a ton of breaks for this team to win on the road against a highly ranked opponent. A lot of the time you earn the breaks you get.....don't think this team deserves to get the breaks.

The last time BU came to Grand Forks, UND won the national championship that very season....against albeit BU. I'm all about that happening again.

A senior in college doesn't know what a civil lawsuit is? Come on....... I like how he has been suffering from neck spasms. What the coach did was clearly wrong, but obviously he isn't getting tackled very hard if that causes a neck spasm. Gotta be careful today.....everything is under that microscope.

I think the officials conference had to do with the fact that they are only allowed the overhead angle (I believe this is still the rule, correct me if I'm wrong) to look at the play so they really had no chance to see if the puck was played with a high stick from the video. So in order to make the correct call they all got together to ensure no one saw a potential high stick. I guess it made it difficult on them because the entire state of Alaska was calling for a high stick on the play. In the end it really wasn't close. I was feeling bad for Anchorage until I slowed it down on my DVR and saw that the puck was like a foot away from Knight's stick.

In the third period this is where UND dug itself into a hole. They tried to fly a winger and Anchorage just wasn't allowing that pass to happen at all when they got the lead. Its tough to be patient when you want to try and hit a homerun and score a goal, but it nearly cost them the game. I guess the short passing game was off all night anyways, so chalk it up to one of those nights.

Something has to be figured out defensively. I mean they are playing good teams, but they aren't playing the Oregon Ducks every weekend. I'm for a massive overhaul defensively. Change the scheme. Use these last few games to mix and match a bit defensively in order to try and find something that might work. I don't care if they play a 4-3, a 3-4, or a 11-0. Find a defense that works with the guys you have.

I think someone already said it. Typical Saturday night performance early in the season for North Dakota. I think one thing I was a bit upset with was when UND went down by a goal Anchorage was the hungrier team. If you didn't know what the score was you would've thought that Anchorage was down by a goal and pressing when the opposite was true. Got lucky to get the point tonight. Take it and run with it. Its a tough league to sweep in, thats for darn sure.

Mussman got his extension for that unbelievable conference championship they won last season.

Then there are days when your offense won't be clicking and you'll need the defense to pick up their game..... We knew they wouldn't win this game, but I think we all thought they were better than what the score is right now.

You just don't win a lot of big sky shootouts on the road. Tough to outscore good teams at their place.
