Where did they use Golladay the most? The slot or on the outside? Hardin just kind of go through the motions today?
-
Nice recap. Do you think the offense will be better than last season?
-
I guess I really don't care who the QB is if he can effectively get the football to our outstanding receiving group.
-
I haven't followed this spring that closely, but I guess I'm either: A) Upset that Mollberg hasn't really pulled away in the QB competition from Bartels B) Thrilled that Bartels is at the level of Mollberg and will be pushing him for time this next season. Which one is it?

I'm not worried about the goaltending next year, but I think you need to bring in a kid that competes for the spot. Zane or Clark will be the guy, likely Zane. But I'd hate to see a situation where say Zane gets hurt, Clark is in there and can't stop a beach ball. Everyone remembers what happened way back when when Ryan Sofie was put into a game. Did alright, but not a college level goaltender. I'd like to have three goaltenders that can play at any time. Wouldn't mind a Brandt-Parise-Lamoureax scenario.
-
No goaltender talk, but another will be needed. I'm watching a NAHL playoff game right now between Minot and Austin, and the goaltender for Minot is a big athletic kid that is backwards, but takes up a lot of net. Last name is Parks, don't believe to be any relation to Mike Parks, but I've been impressed with what I've seen from him. Nice to have a guy like Tate, but at the same time it'd be nice to have three guys capable of playing at any moments notice. Likely won't be this Parks kid, but I wouldn't mind see them bringing in a kid that will compete right away.

I'm talking has gotten better from what was already exceptional. Thompson may be the best skater on the team next season, Rocco included.
-
Agreed. I think LaDue will play above being a Freshman next season. Give Thompson a year or two, and he'll be the best defenseman on the team. I'm excited to see if his skating ability has improved since the last time I saw him live. Of all the players in that group I think Thompson is the one with the most talent.

As a former coach in the North Dakota hockey world I wish coach Bina well. Tremendous person, absolutely tremendous. Yeah he had his run ins with players/parents, but what coach doesn't? Wonder who the next coach will be. Nick Fuher?
-
Gage Ausmus is an East Grand Forks kid who originally was headed to Denver, but backed out after Gwoz got the boot. Good defenseman, a nice addition if he indeed makes his way home.
-
Yup, thats where I got my start at. Loved visiting that site.
-
I was there too. Along with my dad.....and Sacred Heart.....and Goldy.
-
I once bought MafiaMan an ice cream cone, and he still didn't apologize to me personally for his role in ending the 1998 hockey season.
-
Rocco is more of a Dean Blais system player than a Hakstol system player. Dave likes the bigger physical forwards, Deano likes em small and just ferocious on the puck like little bees. I would take a full team of guys like Rocco. What he lacks on in size, he makes up with his heart.

Could you imagine UND hosting a super regional at the Ralph against like Minnesota or Michigan for the right to go to the frozen four? One word....epic.....
-
I didn't take any stance, I just asked you a question that you didn't answer. Ufff....ignorance....
-
People have their own opinions in the flood fight, thats fine. But are you honestly backing Ed's comments? PS: How does Scott Hennen have anything to do with this?
-
^This...... If you have the puck, the other team can't score.
-
Absolutely. An absolute embarrassment to our state.
-
Five guys with the philosophy of not allowing time or space when they don't have the puck. When they have the puck get it to the net as much as possible, and carry the puck into the zone as much as possible, even when they didn't have numbers. Last night in the third period Yale was forced to dump it by three QU players back after a change. It was a 2 on 3 rush, and whomever had the puck for Yale played a PERFECT lob dump into the corner where Miller could get it on his stick right away. It was like a flag pattern in football that Miller and his linemate played to perfection. Yale then kept the puck in the zone for about an entire shift and created two or three good chances from not giving away possession.
-
Unique. Usually you'll see that at like a DIII school or NJCAA school. I know that Williston State, MSU-Bottineau, and I believe Minot State have something similar to this on their websites. UND obviously needs to put something like this up at fightingsioux.com.
-
Watching this Wild game is boring compared to the Yale-QU game. Even in OT.....four on four.....just no pace. Lose the puck in the offensive end then start playing defense.....
-
I'll agree with Yale was a better team than UND. If Clark Saunders doesn't play one of his better games of the year Yale wins that game 6-1. Had UND held on for 8 more minutes who knows....I don't think there is such thing as an underdog anymore in college hockey. No more Holy Cross type stories.
-
Maybe thats a bit of it. I still feel awful for the Pony Express group. Hak admits that he didn't let that group really cherish any of their accomplishments, and in the end they didn't get the job done with the business type approach. Heck, when UND won their national championship in 97 they showed up with their cowboy hats on and just giddy and having a helluva time. Who knows, but definitely liked to see Yale truly have a good time.
-
UND was eight minutes away from beating this Yale team. A bad bounce through Simpson, and next thing you know its 4-1 Yale. Yeah, I'm believing in destiny now too. Michigan wins, Yale is done for the year. Instead they get in, win some OT games, and play their best game of the year in the title game. Yale earned my respect too.
