  1. This is going to make the what-if calculator really complicated..... Just go to go out there every weekend and get a big six points!

    2013 Season

If they start 3-1 I think they make the playoffs. 2-2.....boy....be tough with some of the games on the schedule.
  3. Agreed 1000 percent. I think if UND had an on campus football stadium it'd almost be the perfect university setup. When comparing towns though it isn't close. Go to Grand Forks in the summer and fargo in the summer. PS: Minneapolis....hah....so I can walk by the homeless crackheads on my way to a play.....yeah....
  4. Eddie will forever hold a special place in my heart, but it got even deeper when he wore a Sioux jersey to a game that his own flesh and blood started against the Sioux. I wonder if he was secretly cheering for the Sioux. Had to be. But glad his kid played well too.
  5. Very good points about Hardin. Did drop some extremely catchable footballs. I think regardless he'll get a tryout in the NFL, could see him sign with a team, possibly make a practice squad for a year or two while he develops. You would think Greg knows he's got this great opportunity in front of him, and has put in the work to make himself that much more attractive to the scouts that attend UND practices. At the same time, play within yourself Greg. Don't try to do too much. I'll go out on a very very very small limb and say he scores the first UND touchdown this year.
  6. According to Brad's blog shootouts could be for real to decide OT games in the NCHC. As a former goalie I'm a fan of this. Games will still be counted as a tie, but I'm a fan of giving out the extra point. My three shootout guys: ~Drake Caggiula ~Rocco (once the hockey gods let him score again) ~Mitch Mac. Heavy accurate shot. Thats even if he's in the lineup....
  7. If Hardin has a good year returning kicks as well as receiving I think he'll get drafted.
  8. I think Freund was very underrated as well. Talk about consistency as a QB. I hope he's in the conversation when the old timers talk about the best UND QB's of all time.
  9. I hear ya, the sooner the better as far as the Ag school goes. And you're right, I lean to Joe because of where he grew up in proximity to North Dakota....
  10. Which is the scary part. Could walk out with a lot of records after four years. And I think Danny would agree with you 100%.
  11. When was the last time UND had a QB that played 90% of the snaps of a season? Landry? In my dream world Mollberg takes the reigns, and under Freund's guidance becomes the reincarnate of Freund and becomes a four year letter winner and All American after winning Freshman of the year honors in the Big Sky. His senior season the Sioux....errr....UND and NDSU finally meet in Fargo and UND continues its Fargo Dome dominance in a 28-24 win.
  12. Thank you. I'll enjoy your breakdown. Always great to read.
  13. I'd love to hear a practice report from someone on the QB competition. Right now we know so little about what has been happening in the QB competition. I watched the opening drive video and don't think saw either guy step back and fling something down the field. One of you Grand Forks area posters needs to take a break from your normal life and get to a practice. geaux_sioux, man up!
  14. Just consistent good tackling all season long. They'll give up yards and points to certain teams, but control what you can control. Wrap up and bring guys down.
  15. COMPLETELY AGREE. A lot of what was said is what I was thinking during games last year. Nobody on the defensive side of the football was on the same page. Problem #1 was tackling, with a close #2 being guys being out of position to make those tackles. I'm glad that guys are being held accountable in the form of having to take tests on the defensive packages. If you don't know whats going on, you don't get into the action. Shouldn't have to do this at the college level, but I'll say well done coach.
  16. As a North Dakotan who lives outside of Grand Forks this is wonderful news, but methinks this will hurt the attendance a bit from the locals.
  17. Uffff....how does a Gary Anderson missed field goal that ruined my life 15 years ago end up in an NDSU-UND hockey/football flame thread? The one kick Gary had to make all year long.....stupid.....
  18. I'm anxious to see the offense under Schleusner...(I know I spelled it wrong). Last year the offense was wide open and attacked, but at times it seemed like they took the air out of the ball because they were afraid of the other team having the ball with time and our defense on the field. Last year the team averaged 33 pts per game, but thats with the Mines blowout. Take that away and they averaged right around 30. I think this offense is very capable of averaging that. I think scoring on every possession isn't out of the question. Anxious to see the playcalling and the flow of the offense with Luke at the helm.
  19. I wonder if the defense had to do updowns for all the missed tackles last season? If they did they were probably too tired come Saturdays to tackle anybody. Questions I have for any practice goers: ~Did Garman put on any weight? ~Who throws a better ball and has a better arm? Bartels or Joe? ~How is the intensity? ~Will Sparks see the field regularly? ~Is there hope for the defense?
  20. Not going to lie, very impressed with their football team's accomplishment the last two years. But if they won a national championship in volleyball, baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, track and field, I would rank that up there as a better accomplishment than the football team.
  21. https://www.facebook.com/pages/NDSU-Hockey/153849412677 This year I guess.
  22. My god man....A guy from Ohio names his cancer "Michigan" and this is the worst you've ever seen? You must not have visited any forums for like Florida State-Florida, Auburn-Alabama, A&M-Texas, Ohio State-Michigan.... Non-biased outsider.....hahahahahahahaha. Yeah. Its okay to post as a bison fan, plenty around here.
  23. Won't miss a game. Bohl could take a lesson from Urban Meyer.
  24. I've been to two Nickel games in my lifetime and you could just feel the energy in the building. First time was UND-NDSU at the Fargo Dome, where UND and NDSU were both bad, and with a pretty good defensive effort (and backup QB) UND won the game 12-6. Last one I saw would have been the last time the teams ever played. 4th and 1....quick pitch right to Malone.....digger....... I don't care whats been said or done. The schools need to play each other every year again. That year that UND won 12-6 both teams weren't going anywhere, but beating NDSU made the sting of losing Klosterman go away. And the sting of getting murdered at home that year to Central Washington or whatever it was Potato bowl weekend go away. I'm glad that other sports have resumed the rivalry, its time for football to figure out a way.
  25. I've heard that its in the UND football facility somewhere. I'm kind of hoping it gets stolen again, just for old time sake. Some of my favorite times with the rivalry was the trophy disappearing only to reappear the week of the game. Not that the two teams will play again for some time. But it does create some creativity in getting the trophy back.
