They'll be in trouble in a sold out XCEL energy center on a Thursday afternoon against Penn State for the right to play Wisconsin on Friday.
I assume extra seating will be added for the Michigan-Wisconsin semifinal game. Likely have to do it the night before for Michigan St.-Ohio State.
Thoughts:
~Second period was the best I've seen this team play all year. That was fun to watch.
~Tough to pick a standout line.....all of them were pretty good.
~Glad they shelled Faragher.....thats been a long time coming.
~Zane steady and good. Just doesn't lose I guess.
They are playing for hardware tomorrow night. The trophy will be in the house.....a ton to play for.
You can tell with the four goal lead UND decided to play a defensively safe period. Third man always high, any even numbered rushes the puck goes deep, and even the wings are hanging lower in their own end giving SCSU the points and the outside.
You see this drill more and more now with even the youth levels. Not every shot should be to score. A lot of the goaltenders like Faragher are too good to beat with a clean shot. Shot with intended rebound.
The first time we did this with the team I coached they had no clue why they weren't supposed to score on the first shot.....never forget it.
One period in the books. Decent road period, but not too many great opportunities. Gosh that ice sheet just seems huge, especially on the power plays.
Can't give SCSU the odd man advantage. 25% with the extra man. Wow.
